Doesn’t connect, at first. Here’s how

UPDATE: during the set up to WiFi process, it tells you to hold the connect button for 3 seconds. Then it shows AP blinking and in the app you see that it connects to phone and connects to WiFi/ to the app, but the last loading step, I think it’s connecting the app to the WiFi or something it loads to 100% and then says could not configure and to try again, and during all of that, the AP turns off. Basically when it loads the 3 step things hold down the connect button until it’s over. It won’t seem like it’s doing anything but it helped and worked for me! It seems like the issue is that during the last loading step, it cannot finish connect because the connect to WiFi/AP blinking turns off therefore the connection gets disrupted Old review: Connects to phone and WiFi but in the end fails to connect set up. I can’t even add the AC to the app to use. So annoying.

I am happy with the AC unit purchase, I like the way it looks and it does what it’s supposed to. I wanted this particular unit for Wifi connectivity and the app seems to work at first, but it would continue to lose its connection randomly (might be after a day, or a full week)- receiving an error message about device offline when I’d try to use the app. Out of frustration, after this happened a few times, I reinstalled the app, reconnected the unit and kept the default name (did not rename). It’s been 2 months since I’ve kept those Default Name settings and it works perfectly. Hope that helps anyone else with same problem.

8/8/18. This app has never worked flawlessly, but I was able to set it up and get it going. Occasionally there were app crashes and errors but overall it worked and could remotely control my ac from anywhere. The latest app update introduced new error codes that have persisted. After deleting and re syncing the ac I was able to get connected to the ac again. The new layout is nice, but I constantly get errors saying to “error 4042, control failed, please try again”. Or “cannot connect to ac”. As of now I cannot control anything. This is something that needs to “just work”. Pretty poor app and overall implementation. If this is ever fixed, I will update my review. Update: summer 2019: Looks like there were lots of updates since last year. Re setting it up on my wife and my phone was super easy. Love the new scheduling feature.
WiFi Fix

Ok guys I don’t really write reviews but I felt like I needed to in order to help others. I also kept getting error “4042” all the times!!! So what I did was take the filter cover off and unplug the “smart kit” USB WiFi dongle(located on the left side) for like 30 seconds while the AC was running and re-plugged it flush into the usb wire. After that the app seem to be working prefect and no issues so far. Good luck guys!
