How to download and install YouTube TV on your PC and Mac

4 Rating: 4 - 13,642 votes

If you want to install and use the YouTube TV app on your PC or Mac, you will need to download and install a Desktop App emulator for your computer. We have worked diligently to help you understand how to use YouTube TV for your computer in 4 simple steps below:

Step 1: Download an Andriod emulator for PC and Mac

Ok. First things first. If you want to use the application on your computer, first visit the Mac store or Windows AppStore and search for either the Bluestacks app or the Nox App . Most of the tutorials on the web recommends the Bluestacks app and I might be tempted to recommend it too, because you are more likely to easily find solutions online if you have trouble using the Bluestacks application on your computer. You can download the Bluestacks Pc or Mac software here

Step 2: Install the emulator on your PC or Mac

Now that you have downloaded the emulator of your choice, go to the Downloads folder on your computer to locate the emulator or Bluestacks application.
Once you have found it, click it to install the application or exe on your PC or Mac computer.
Now click Next to accept the license agreement.
Follow the on screen directives in order to install the application properly.
If you do the above correctly, the Emulator app will be successfully installed.

Step 3: YouTube TV for PC - Windows 7/8 / 8.1 / 10

Now, open the Emulator application you have installed and look for its search bar. Once you found it, type YouTube TV in the search bar and press Search. Click on YouTube TV application icon. A window of YouTube TV on the Play Store or the app store will open and it will display the Store in your emulator application. Now, press the Install button and like on an iPhone or Andriod device, your application will start downloading. Now we are all done.
You will see an icon called "All Apps".
Click on it and it will take you to a page containing all your installed applications.
You should see the YouTube TV icon. Click on it and start using the application.

Step 4: YouTube TV for Mac OS

Hi. Mac user!
The steps to use YouTube TV for Mac are exactly like the ones for Windows OS above. All you need to do is install the Nox Application Emulator or Bluestack on your Macintosh. You can get here .

Thank you for reading this tutorial. Have a nice day!

App Reviews

  • The app needs to be available on all smart tv’s

    By bigovato
I gave it a chance and I love the concept BUT I can’t stream onto my “smart tv” without having to buy another device just for this app, which defeats the purpose of buying a “smart tv”. HELP! I want to use this app on my tv too!
  • Love it

Love YouTube tv Wish I had cut the cord long ago
  • iPhone interface issues

    By lawren268
The app does not allow iPhone to beam to smart TV (mine is LG brand), while YouTube can. On the program side, I can’t find a straight forward way to look for a program guide
  • Refund

    By livinfree12
Money has been taken out of my account and YouTube TV will NOT play. I've tried everything. I started the free trial and it was fine, it seems that as I soon as I was charged (which I was totally fine with because I originally was able to watch everything I wanted and was completely satisfied) it stopped working. Who do I contact to refund my money? I have all the info to prove it was drafted from my acct.
  • Love this app!

When you don't have a TV or just want to watch on any device without having to sign in, this is a great help!
  • Best. Choice.

Don’t look or try out anything else. Just get YouTube TV. It’s amazing. It’s easy. Greatly quality. Go ahead. Hit the button and subscribe.
  • Impossible to use Apple Touch Remote

    By Reid C.
Some things work fine in this app. Others are bloody impossible. Normally scrolling uses the touch remote works okay but in some menus not. Trying to watch World Cup and in my recordings it jumps straight from “about” to “upcoming” sections. I simply cannot land on the middle section which is my actual recordings. Using the Apple TV remote or my iPhone as a remote. I spent 2+ minutes trying to move my finger on the touchpad the precise number of mm to get it to work but no luck. Also, there’s no “get rid of the goddamn menu and go back to the live program” button. Once you open a menu it’s impossible to get back to the show.
  • Needs iPad Picture-in-Picture

    By nargan
Good channel selection, intuitive interface and DVR, and excellent search and recommendation system. However, it needs to support iPad picture-in-picture and multitasking to get more stars. I switched from PlayStation Vue and generally think the YouTube TV app is more polished, but this is a big missing feature.
  • It's the bees knees

    By mikegthegoodguy
    YTTV is awesome.
  • Forced ads on DVR

    By Toptekjon
DVR is generous, but only so they can force more unskippable ads down your throat. Channel selection is great for the price, but the interface on Apple TV is unbearable. Constantly fighting with it to ty and skip 10 seconds back/forward. Very laggy, and lots of errors. No support for basic features on iPad, like Picture In Picture, or split window. No info when watching sports - seems to me a total waste to go to TV on the internet and NOT take advantage of it. Sports should have live scores, stats, player cards, box scores, etc etc. Overall, it’s not worth the price. It’s extremely basic and the forced ads are enough to make me cancel. On top of that, it doesn’t offer more than my crappy cable company does, and it’s not even cheaper.
