Needs help
By Mr. 05 lucky (Pcmac user)
I was originally a Vivint customer for a year. Their app had no problems at all it showed everything I needed, usage power produced, payments, everything that you would normally want to know.
However, since I was switched over to Sunrun I find that the application is pretty much useless for me. It gives me no information about my production, nothing about my payment, basically it gives me no information at all that I am interested in.
I have called Sunrun support two or three times with no satisfaction of a solution to my problem. The first support tech told me that the application would correct itself in time may be a few days. Having worked in electronics and engineering for 30 years I know programmed applications do not correct them selves they do not have that ability. Something is wrong, if you don’t know what it is just say that and that you will work on it.
I really thought being under Sunrun would be better, but at this point I do not have that opinion.

Extremely bad experience
By Out of here. (Pcmac user)
I bought the whole magilla from these folks. Solar panels, battery backup, the works. To say it’s been unpleasant from the start, doesn’t do the experience justice. The latest issue is the battery. It failed. A SunRun tech came out several days after we reported the failure and confirmed that indeed the battery had in fact failed. He told us it would be a while before we got another one, because LG was backed up. He was right about that. It’s been nearly two months and no sign of a battery. I’m told we have been “approved” for a replacement and it will arrive someday. I was very unhappy about the battery failing. We have regular power outages. I felt better after we got the recall notice from LG wherein they explained our battery was subject to overheating and could cause a fire - on the side of my house. To wrap up, my house didn’t burn down, but I’m sitting in the dark because the power is out in my neighborhood. Thanks again SunRun. You guys are the best.

Horrendous app that shows no real time data.
By Darkwun (Pcmac user)
From the start of the solar purchasing process I was told that “with SunRun, you’ll be able to monitor your production and stay on top of your energy use.” Only thing is they failed to mention that monitoring production refers to past production history and not real-time production, use, or battery storage level. Upon speaking to customer service I was told the app would include all this information and show me my battery, none of that has turned out to be true. This app in reality is a shrunken short cut to their website. It provides me little to no useful data. I truly wish they would give us the same app that the technicians have access to with a much higher level of insight and detail than we get. I can’t wrap my head around how I, as the home and solar owner, can not see what is going on and what my system is producing and what level my battery is at. Absolutely terrible. Do better SunRun.

Terrible company and terrible app!
By Mr.Brownstain (Pcmac user)
The title says it all….I feel like such a fool for getting Vivint solar now sunrun. The local franchise owner messed up our paperwork causing severe delays and confusion and had the nerve to blame us for it. After we settled those issues his crew came out and installed the panels, leaving cut pieces of pipe and miscellaneous other material debris in the planters and around the exterior of my house. For the next year I got billed more monthly than I paid the electric company. Called the local owner/rep and he kept blowing us off. Ended up contacting the main headquarters and found out that for the last year our panels weren’t communicating with them so they were getting all of our solar generated electricity and they just estimated our bill each month. Convenient for them they estimated higher than our electricity bill ever was each month or at least close to as high as it ever was. There’s a lot more but I think you get the idea.
