Would love support for iPhone X screen size and iOS 13 Dark mode :-3

This is a pretty good reader but has a couple of fatal flaws. First, footnotes have to be tap-and-held instead of just tapped, and when jumping to the notes, there's no indication which note is the one jumped to. The former violates normal use and every other reader out there, and the latter means we have to search around for the one we wanted. The combination makes using footnotes painful. First rule of a reader: make it easier, not harder. Second, as others have noted, it doesn’t take articles into account when sorting, which, in 2017, is unforgivable. There is also a weird screen thing when moving between chapters which I find way too distracting, especially on books with a lot of small chapters. Again, this app is alone in this, so it’s not necessary. Since all of those flaws are in the actual reading part of the reader, they’re fatal. Which is too bad, because in many other ways this is a very nice program.
  • Excellent reader

This is the best alternative to the capricious and disappointing iBooks that I have found. It is lovely to look at and pleasant to use. It is similar to iBooks in many respects. I have only been using it a week and don't know yet how it will hold up to heavy use (as in thousands of books). It has some great features that iBooks lacks and the developer is very responsive, so I am hoping this app will continue to improve and be stable. 2017 update- this app continues to outperform iBooks, imo. It has crashed once or twice in the last year, but restored with a hard reset. I do wish you could annotate the file names on the shelf with colored tags or symbols to find books more easily. PS. Support is excellent!
  • Doesn’t support iPhone X/XS screens, support is lacking

    By mritche (Pcmac user)

The app itself is great at being an e-book reader, but it’s hard to excuse the fact that in 2019, a year and a half after the iPhone X came out, this app still doesn’t support the screen form factors of the X and XS. One of the most important things to a reading app is how the app looks while reading (and how well I can use my phone’s screen real estate). this app unfortunately falls short, which is sad because there is otherwise a lot to like. I wouldn’t have paid for this app if I knew I would be stuck with a degraded reading experience for over a year. Maybe there’s a perfectly good reason for it, but when virtually every other app I use has long since been updated to take advantage of my wildly expensive phone’s screen, the delay is egregious. If this app were to have supported the new X/XS screen form factors a year ago, I would have given it 4 or 5 stars. But instead the author leaves me doubting whether this app will ever take advantage of new iOS/iPhone features. Since knowing my purchases won’t become stale as soon as I make them is important to me, I’m in the market for another iOS reading app.
