Live Streaming

Purchased 4K+ couple weeks ago to live stream on Facebook (high school baseball games, youth baseball games, etc...). Several issues with the app. The main one for me, you cannot live stream. I have called the app directly multiple times, emailed the app several times, sent them FB messages, etc... First time calling the lady didn’t understand why it wouldn’t work for me. Later in the conversation she tells me tech dept is working on a new firmware update that will fix the problem and they have known about this issue. She then proceeds to tell me it will be released in one week (didn’t happen). So I called back and talked to a different person. He didn’t know anything about the firmware update. He did talk to the tech dept and they told him a new firmware will come out in future for various items. Email responses tell me to visit the website and read the tutorials or delete this app app and reload. I guess you don’t think I tried all of this. Don’t waste your time with these this app cameras or app. They crash at random times, audio is horrible, live streaming doesn’t work, customer service doesn’t know what is going on but will tell you what you want to hear.
Decent but limited

I don’t really care for the use of WiFi to connect to the camera, since you can only have one WiFi connection going at a time; Bluetooth would have been better. But this is probably a limitation of the camera, not the app. There are also some limitations that are probably part of the firmware, like not being able to select any interval for a time lapse (why 1, 2, and 5 sec but no possibility for 3 or 4, for instance). The app is a pretty convenient way to control the camera at least, especially from a second, unused phone that you don’t use for phone things.

First of all I don’t write reviews. I’m only writing this because people are having issues pairing the camera to be phone and viewing is on the phone. It gives you directions on how to set it up. Connect with it through WiFi open the app and follow instructions. It prompts you to turn off the cellular assist through the cellular menu and turn off access and it works. And the clarity is just of that of a GoPro (had one and got rid of it because I never used it) and I purchased the lite. Can’t wait to try this out.
Yi Action Camera App crashes constantly

Why can’t you address the constant crashing? I’m using the latest iOS 12.2 on iPhone XR, yet this app is the only app I have that won’t load. I was attempting to show off my camera tonight but I can’t get the app to stay up. It crashes immediately most of the time, but it’ll actually load and connect to my this app camera about 1 out of 15 times. It won’t last. A few minutes of running through various menu items, down again. I’m amazed by this considering the earlier versions worked flawlessly. Are you abandoning the technology? Should we reconsider future purchases of the app camera products? I’d honestly love to know the answers here as I’ve been an advocate for the app products for several years. What’s going on now leaves your customers in a position of distrust, we can’t feel good about buying products from a company that won’t dedicate resources to develop and test software paired with your cameras. Please consider this as a request to address the issues. I’ll be more than happy to provide debug logs to help diagnose the problems.
