Install BlitzortungLive app on your Windows in 4 steps below:

Download an Android emulator for PC:
Get either Bluestacks or the Nox App >> . We recommend Bluestacks because you can easily find solutions online if you run into problems while using it. Download Bluestacks PC software Here >> .

Install the emulator:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.

Using BlitzortungLive on PC [Windows 10/ 11]:

Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "BlitzortungLive"
The search will reveal the BlitzortungLive app icon. Open, then click "Install".
Once BlitzortungLive is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including BlitzortungLive.
Now enjoy BlitzortungLive on PC.

To get started, Download the OpenPC software »
- Upon installation, open OpenPC app » goto "Playstore on PC" » click "Configure_Download" button. This will auto-download and install PlayStore on your computer.

To use BlitzortungLive,
- Login to the PlayStore we just installed
- Search for "BlitzortungLive" » then Click "Install".
- BlitzortungLive will now be available on your Windows start-menu.

Solid, simple app

Like the features that come with the app like text alerts within a user-defined range from a point you define. Works well for going to the pool or baseball games. It could have more features, but it does what it says it should do. In the mountains, this app doesn't work as well likely due to blockage from the mountains to the detectors. Otherwise, quite pleased.

The “Blitz” is a daily ritual for me, especially if any heavy weather is at least close. In southern US weather, and especially storm patterns, it has all changed drastically over the years. Can’t prove it, but I believe the Jet Stream has in some way elevated itself above and over more northern areas. Not a tremendous amount , but enough to make big changes in some locations. Any information on storm travel and intensity is always required and the “Blitz” does a great job with lightning data. Highly recommended!

I use Blitzortung for assessing lightning / storm locations and activities in connection with flight planning. The information available through it is almost always as good or better than similar information through subscription services, is as or more up to date, and has much better geographical coverage, including close up. The developer and his group are to be commended and thanked for providing this app and this service, and continuing to improve them.

I have been using this app to track the occasional lightning we get in SoCal but also when we are on the road. The data flow from the detection network to the app is pretty impressively fast. The app is pretty basic but very usable and fast without having to dig through options to get to the display
