  • Almost there!!!

I play classical guitar for approximately 12 years. I’ve been using the iOS app MusicJournal. The developer decided not to support iOS 11 update, so far. I have downloaded a dozen of the other app practice journals for the iPhone seeking a replacement. None of these fit into the flexibility that the MusicJournal app fulfilled. This application this app come closest to meeting my requirements. It has a straightforward user interface. It is clean and logically arranged and is easy to navigate. Edits and updates are relatively painless. It is lacking the ability to enter any type of practice notes or manually add time to a closed session. There seems to be a minor bug auto syncing to the iCloud server. The app has a tendency to freeze up. The workaround is only to sync manually. With these 3 limitations I really like this app and would give it five stars if fixed and updated. Update: found notes area. App has ability to add missed sessions. Nice

I am always striving to get my practice sessions more structured. That's why I bought this app. There is however one key element missing, which is the ability to creat a real schedule. It lets you designate a certain amount of time for a specified time period, but you can't attach a specified time of the day to it. Also, since it is called a journal, it would be nice if it would let me attach photos to a note (for example a picture of the scale I wanna work on). And there is so much more missing here, I don't have the time to get into it. Bottom line, this app is way too expensive for the few things it can do for me. As of now, I won't use it.
  • Wish it was Music Journal Pro :(

This is the only thing that I found that resembles what MJP did - unfortunately that app doesn't work on iOS 11 so I'm stuck with this. Feature wise it's not 1 to 1 but has a lot more than I really need. I just need the core of what MJP had. The workflow on this app is bit more time consuming and I don't get a good zoom out/in graph picture of how I've progressed over time for each re: BPM over time per each excercise would be awesome. Also very glitchy. The apps metronome needs a real metronome to keep time :(. THere's potential with this app hence more than 1 star. Remaining hopeful.
  • Good App needs work

    By Fat Lenster (Pcmac user)

Overall I am happy with this App Here are some constructive suggestions: 1. Make Start and Stop "button" LARGE It is small and in a weird location off to the side so I have to hit it multiple times to get it to start or stop. 2. I accidentally didn't stop my practice time once and now it looks like I practiced for 80 minutes that day. I'd just like to delete that entry or edit it but it seems to be impossible. 3. Please make it possible to set a goal without specifying the days of the week. For example, I want to "practice 150 minutes a week" but can't predict which days I will do it in advance. 4. If you fix these things i will give you 5 stars.
