Software Features and Description

1. As Gender Wayang is played with two panggul (mallets) - other than the Gangsa in Gong Kebyar - two player together play the melody (left hand) and the interlocking parts kotekan (right hand) as a complete „mini“ Gamelan.

2. Load it in to Midi Gender to play it in matching tuning to your real instruments, use it for practicing, memorizing.

3. • play the sounds from your favorite sound module via midi out (must be multitimbral and omni off capable).

4. Gender Wayang is a 10-key metallophone, coming in pairs, most be doubled from an other pair one octave higher, tuned in Slendro scale.

5. Generate your gendings (gender wayang tunes) in a midi sequencing/notation program and export it as midi file.

6. • play the keys with mouse or keyboard keys, or via midi in.

7. The tuning is transmited as pitchbend event for every note, delegated to its own midi channel.

8. • sampled real gender sound, choose sound from GM sound font.

Install Midi Gender app on your Windows in 4 steps below:

Download an Android emulator for PC:
Get either Bluestacks or the Nox App >> . We recommend Bluestacks because you can easily find solutions online if you run into problems while using it. Download Bluestacks PC software Here >> .

Install the emulator:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.

Using Midi Gender on PC [Windows 10/ 11]:

Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "Midi Gender"
The search will reveal the Midi Gender app icon. Open, then click "Install".
Once Midi Gender is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including Midi Gender.
Now enjoy Midi Gender on PC.

To get started, Download the OpenPC software »
- Upon installation, open OpenPC app » goto "Playstore on PC" » click "Configure_Download" button. This will auto-download and install PlayStore on your computer.

To use Midi Gender,
- Login to the PlayStore we just installed
- Search for "Midi Gender" » then Click "Install".
- Midi Gender will now be available on your Windows start-menu.
