Install Mho's Resistance app on your Windows in 4 steps below:
- Download an Android emulator for PC:

- Install the emulator:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.

- Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "Mho's Resistance"

- To get started, Download the OpenPC software »
- Upon installation, open OpenPC app » goto "Playstore on PC" » click "Configure_Download" button. This will auto-download and install PlayStore on your computer.
- To use Mho's Resistance,
- Login to the PlayStore we just installed
- Search for "Mho's Resistance" » then Click "Install".
- Mho's Resistance will now be available on your Windows start-menu.

Hopefully this is just the beginning of games that will help teach me electronics! Thanks so much for creating this! The only thing I think this is missing, is a mode after the tutorial where I can actually learn the colors slowly instead of jumping right in. Maybe a quick quiz mode that shows a color and you need to choose its number value, or vice versa. Another thing I'm confused about, is that there are obviously multiple ways to get certain values, and I dont know which is more acceptable. I.e. 200 times 10 or 020 times 100. Different color codes, same value.

I'm completely hooked. I first learned how resistor codes work in my first Techshop class (DC Arlington) and have been fighting it ever since, but this game makes it easy and quite addictive!! After just a few minutes, I'm already memorizing the colors without even trying.
Trouble is, I'm not getting much soldering of actual resistors done. At some point, I'll have to get back to work. At some point... :)

I have been learning electronics as a hobby for a few months and have ordered much of my electronics supplies from Adafruit online (great products). I was excited to see that they have created a fun app to teach how to read the color coding found on resisters! I hope that they continue to release more such apps in the future, great work!

Fun way to learn resistor values!

Memorizing resistor values is something I'd never thought I would do, but after playing around with this app for an hour, I think I have them down. Seriously. What's more amazing is that my 9 year old daughter does too. I wonder if I can get her to sort all my loose resistors into their individual bins now?
