Download an Android emulator for PC:

GPS didn’t work

Tried to use the app while in Pompei but the GPS feature would only work for about 20 seconds and then would stop updating. Kept restarting the app and sometimes it would work for a short period but would ultimately stop updating my location. Google Maps had no problem with my location during my visit so I know it wasn’t my phone, but the app that wasn’t working right. The insight on the various locations in Pompei was ok, but wouldn’t download it again. Eventually gave up on trying to get the app to work while there.

I did a fair amount of research before our trip and the consensus seemed to be that this was the best app, so I paid for it. Then we get to this app and it says that the app needs to be updated for iOS 11. So I was completely unable to use this and would like my money back.

This App did not work well for me. It kept lagging to the point that it was un-usable at the site. I had downloaded the info before so that I could use it offline. I suspect I should have put my phone on plane mode while at the site. In retrospect, I should have used the local audio guide for more thorough information.
Pompeii App

This is a beautiful app. The digital photography is stunning. They also have a presence on Twitter, with access to additional spectacular photography.
