The hidden purpose of this.

It has the "Spigot" virus, or one of its variants. It will turn on the wifi, then after your device connects to any known network, Spigot uses it to receive and transmit data. My iPhone used a record-breaking 37 GB this month, my wife's used 19 GB (previous high was under 2 GB), and the batteries had to recharged every 4-6 hours. Both phones ran hot. Spigot erased the the app icon off my iPhone, and also erased the App store icon. Spigot attempted to install itself on my MacBookPro, but Bitdefender Antivirus blocked and identified it. I ened up having to do factory resets on both phones, and am facing a $263 bill for the data overage, plus usual monthly charges. Yesterday I turned on my iPad to back up some data, and in only 40 minutes it used up 1.3 GB. When I attempted to dowload the the app viewer directly to my MacBookPro, Bitdefender reported that the initial download itself had the virus and advised me not proceed. So now you know the true, hidden purpose of this software. Forewarned is forearmed.
Complex and very limited
