  • You’ve gotta be kidding...

    By No sc55 (Pcmac user)

My assumption is that someone is doing the app dev on their spare time. No way Acura hired an actual developer to do this and have it so poorly implemented. Apps like this are the epitome of the terms “buggy”, “half baked”, and “beta”... Stuff works sometimes and not others. When it does work, there is a significant delay to the point that the phone wants to time out. I had stats like tire pressure and oil show up yet not the oil or ODO. Wake up the next day and absolutely nothing shows up. Remote start works but the delay is unbearable. Don’t expect to start the car as you are leaving the store and expect it to be warmed up/cooled down by the time you get to your car. Most likely by the time it communicates your commands back and forth, you’ll already be standing next to your car trying to get in. The “car finder” feature is just as laggy. I knew it was going to be buggy when it took the salesman nearly an hour just to get it to register the first time. But he kept trying, and after a bunch of repeated deletes and adds, it finally started working... Long story short- if Acura is going to have customers pay for a subscription, the thing better work at least 90% of the time! And even if it was totally free, consumers should treat this as a bonus item that they are beta testing for Acura and not an actual option of the car (especially not one that adds any value to the vehicle).
  • Shame on Acura

    By VetteGuy7 (Pcmac user)

Have a 2019 MDX and wanted to see what the app was all about as the dealer touted the AcuraWatch services and features equipped with my vehicle. Registering was easy and advertised location features along with basic functions like locking/unlocking doors and flashing lights for a panic mode of sorts. Very disappointed when registration was complete to find NONE of those options existed in the app without a paid subscription. Acura’s aren’t inexpensive my any means and options add up quickly the way they are packaged. I know as I’m on my 4th. Many other brands offer basic functionality in the app at NO CHARGE while some offer full functionality for free! I also have a Volvo and have a fully equipped app without ANY fees. At the very least, the app should allow for the basics as I outlined above for safety & security. Not even vehicle diagnostics are included! The support and roadside assistance buttons just link to a page with phone number to call. Should be a link to activate a service call or call for help. Remote start I get for an extra cost app option but not the basics! In my opinion this is in poor form from a luxury brand. I’d expect this kind of behavior from a mainstream brand like Ford, Chevy, Kia, FCA, etc.. but not Acura. This really needs to be changed in the next update. Even if it’s a small step in the right direction, steps need to be taken. SMH
  • Poorly executed app

    By Beerski1879 (Pcmac user)

If Acura expects people to pay for this app then they need to fix it. First, the app becomes randomly unresponsive requiring me to log out and log back in in order to make it work. The app cloud integration loses information, such as my license plate number, favorite locations and sent locations. I added a remote start key fob as an option. It starts my RDX in less than ten seconds. Using the this app app it can take over minute to start or not and give give me an error that it didn’t work. The RDX has been an excellent vehicle, but this app is awful in it’s current configuration. Unless fixed, I will not subscribe when the trial is over.
  • This App is the worst. Worst customer service ever.

    By Jimmyd56 (Pcmac user)

this app has got to be the worst gimmick in the remote feature application business. I have owned a Lexus with Lexus Enform, where I was not required to provide credit card information for the complimentary app-based feature. This also applies to my Volvo S90, and Ford Mustang using Fordpass. Why would I want to give you credit information for a service I haven’t even tried yet? The customer service reps through this app are sitting in a call center in Mumbai and speak very broken English. I was told by a rep “there is nothing I can do. My hands are tied. “ and that I should contact the dealership. This entire experience has been laughable and frustrating. I hope you take this in to consideration in trying to build value in your services (which you can’t even use unless you give credit information). This practice is a joke. Hoping the customers forget when their services lapse so they can be charged. Lexus, Volvo and even Ford are miles ahead of the game. It’s embarrassing for Acura. I hope you all make this right.
