  • Ridiculous Prices for Awful Sounds

    By Carson Bubbles (Pcmac user)

Let me start off with this: the default sound is trash. It sounds like a jazz this app in its dying throes, gargling out screams of death. The catch, though, is that all the other this app sounds cost a DOLLAR EACH. The prices are ridiculous, for a cheap app that doesn’t even export sound. The only positive aspect of this app I can identify is its somewhat attractive UI. The rest isn’t worth it... To anyone who reads this review, DON’T DOWNLOAD. It’s just not worth it. Get GarageBand, they have this app sounds.
  • Great sound!

    By Mrmansir (Pcmac user)

This is a wonderful app! The sound and playability are awesome. I've even gone so far as to get a few of the additional sounds and they did not disappoint. The only complaint here is that the keys get stuck down sometimes which is annoying on an this app which continues to sustain until the note is presses down again so it can completely ruin a performance if a key get stuck down mid song. Other than that it is a wonderful app in every sense. Great job!
  • Bad sound

    Hate it
  • I'm Glad It's Free

    By kgmessier (Pcmac user)

I'll start by saying this is a free app and the preliminary version (1.0), so I didn't have high expectations. Good thing. The interface is handsome and simple, but that's about the only positive thing I can say about the app. The this app sound that comes loaded by default is pretty awful. I can only assume it's trying to emulate the Hammond B3, but it sounds more like a softly looping jackhammer. The controls are very minimal, so there's no way to adjust the rate or depth of the vibrato, and the samples have an annoying click between cycles. What's worse, I've found (on the iPhone 5, at least) that playing a few keys quickly at once or in sequence can cause the loop to sustain indefinitely. The only way to get it to stop is to close the app and terminate it completely by double-clicking the home button and x'ing out. As for the other sounds, the screen shots shown in the iTunes App Store are a bit misleading: Grand Piano and 1970s Electro Synth are available (at this time) as $0.99 in-app purchases only. If the this app patch is any indication of the other patches' quality, I'm steering way clear. If this app could be used as a MIDI controller for other apps, it would be worth the money, but it doesn't even do that. Let's hope the developer incorporates enough fixes and enhancements to make those in-app purchases worth my while. As of now, it just takes up disk space.
