1. This app shows over 1,740 free boondocking locations (and growing), most within the US.

2. The number of locations continues to increase as more users submit boondocking locations.

3. The boondocking locations are obtained from crowdsourcing and are therefore subjective in nature.

4. - Shows driving distance and time from your current location to the boondocking location.

5. - No Internet needed as the boondocking locations are contained with the app.

6. - Get info about each boondocking location, even when offline.

7. - Filter the locations (water, toilets, etc) so you only view the locations you what to see.

8. Boondocking usually refers to free camping in remote areas.

9. - View Flickr photos for the location (when available).

10. - Send location data directly to our Road Trip Planner app.

Install Boondocking app on your Windows in 4 steps below:

Download an Android emulator for PC:
Get either Bluestacks or the Nox App >> . We recommend Bluestacks because you can easily find solutions online if you run into problems while using it. Download Bluestacks PC software Here >> .

Install the emulator:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.

Using Boondocking on PC [Windows 10/ 11]:

Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "Boondocking"
The search will reveal the Boondocking app icon. Open, then click "Install".
Once Boondocking is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including Boondocking.
Now enjoy Boondocking on PC.

To get started, Download the OpenPC software »
- Upon installation, open OpenPC app » goto "Playstore on PC" » click "Configure_Download" button. This will auto-download and install PlayStore on your computer.

To use Boondocking,
- Login to the PlayStore we just installed
- Search for "Boondocking" » then Click "Install".
- Boondocking will now be available on your Windows start-menu.

Needs more users to report Boondocking spots

The app has potential for being pretty good. But it’s not an app where the developers go and find spots for the app. It’s an user based app, meaning people have to report of a camping spot, either it be a campground (Not really what the app is designed for), free camping areas (getting a little closer to intent of app), but more importantly this app areas. It’s a scattering of users free camping/this app spots, just doesn’t have a lot of them. If you find a spot on this app and you camp there based on someone else’s work finding it and posting it, pay it forward and post a spot of your own on the app for others to be able to use to. That’s the only way it can get better. I can find numerous campground apps all day long. In the middle of nowhere free camping spot apps.... not so much.
Limited database

As opposed to the 6,000+ FREE campsites on other apps- this is by far the most pathetic data base. While only a handful of locations come up in Arizona alone, you can’t help but laugh. There are far better apps clearly developed by more passionate individuals who undoubtedly have a greater appreciation for the outdoors than this app attempts to portray. Accessing a more accurate database would a lone be a phenomenal service to this app- displaying just some of the lack behind this app.

This app has been very helpful when camping, I travel all over the Pacific coast from Washington to Mexico. I enjoy having the ability to search new a different places each month. I recommend this app.
