2 weeks ago I would’ve given this app 5 stars. The app is convenient and easy to use, there are usually a lot of job openings around my area and I’ve made decent spending money overall. However, out of nowhere, now the developers want to charge sitters and nanny’s for services we’ve Been using with no added services or benefits other than a background check. If a background check is so necessary to keep your app safe why are y’all just now adding this feature?? And if it’s that important for the peace of mind of the parents, already verified, repeatedly booked sitters shouldn’t have to pay to prove they are who they say they are. The company should do background checks same as every other company out there. You don’t have to pay when you apply for a job and they check your background; neither should you have to for this. I have to say that I’m very disappointed with how things turned out for an app that I truly loved. Whenever they want to start charging me I will be leaving the app because I think what they’re doing is unfair, ridiculous and honestly a money grab move from a company I thought respected their clients -ie the sitters who make the whole thing possible. Horrible coustomer service and representation. Honestly SAD.

Great way to look for babysitting jobs or nanny jobs. I do wish they made profile pictures a requirement. I feel pretty safe going to babysitting jobs but I never apply to jobs that don’t have a profile picture. There should be a way for babysitters to rate/review families. It’s nice to know what you’re getting into before showing up for the job: how difficult are the kids/parents, what sort of activities did you do, and how clean is the home. Home cleanliness is crucial for me. Last, after a certain amount of jobs there should be a way to verify the babysitter that is the equivalent of having a background check. I’m not going to pay for a background check. After, working for a few families on the app you should be a verified person that shows new families you’re trust worthy, responsible and more. Some parents don’t let apply for a job unless you have a background check. I would like to think the reviews on my profile from all the families I’ve worked for would be enough.

Urban Sitter is truly an amazing app! It has helped me (a college student) to meet many new families around the bay area while gaining more experience in the child care field. It is very easy to navigate, I just have a couple of suggestions. 1) Make a feature where you can block a specific family (or sitter) so you don’t even have to view them in your search. If a certain family is not adequately compensating for their number of children or have included services in their posts that you don’t offer, you should be able to block them so you won’t see them each time you’re on the job board. Likewise, if a sitter does not fit your criteria (i.e. aren’t CPR certified) you should be able to block them, too. This will help save time for everyone involved during their searches for the perfect candidate/family. I know you can hide your availability from specific families, but it would be nice if you could completely hide them from view forever. 2) For sitters, only show jobs that match the availability posted to your calendar. This will save time during the job search so you won’t have to waste time hiding all the jobs you can’t even take. Again, I love this app so much and can’t recommend it enough! I seriously talk about it to anyone who will listen. I hope you at least consider adding these features, as I know many other sitters and families who agree.

As a parent of two kids, flexibility in my job is very important. At some point I was thinking of babysitting while my kids will grow up an go to school. But I didn’t have much success until 4 months ago I downloaded the app. I did my best to follow the instructions and advises the Support Center provides and in couple weeks I got my first job. Since than I do mostly occasional jobs and I’ve met great families. I like the ability to confirm the hours right after the job is completed and process the payment right away. Also I want to mention that the Support Center team is doing a great job. When I just started, I had many questions. Every time I would email them, they answer promptly and clearly.
