What is Canon CameraWindow? Canon CameraWindow is a free app that allows users to transfer images from compatible Canon compact digital cameras to their iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch via Wi-Fi. Users can also browse and playback images, save one or multiple images, acquire location information, and remotely shoot with their device. The app is compatible with select Canon compact digital cameras and requires iOS 6.0 or later.

Software Features and Description

1. Canon CameraWindow (Canon CW) is a free application which enables users to transfer images shot with Canon compact digital cameras (see below for compatible models) to iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch via Wi-Fi* and share these images in simple steps.

2. *It is possible to connect by Ad-hoc (directly camera to device) or by infrastructure mode (using a Wi-Fi access point).

3. *You can either connect the camera directly to the device (set the camera as a simplified access point) or join an existing Wi-Fi network (using a Wi-Fi access point).

4. *Devices without GPS such as the iPod touch and iPad Wi-Fi model cannot use the location information tagging function.

5. -[Information to customers using the PowerShot ELPH 530 HS/IXUS 510 HS and PowerShot ELPH 320 HS/IXUS 240 HS] You may not be able to connect by Ad-hoc, if the configuration does not allow it.

8. -If CameraWindow cannot be connected properly with the camera, try again after once shutting down the application.

I like to access my camera using my phone to select pictures to share with my family and friends. It is one of the main reasons that I purchased this camera. Please upgrade your app so people can continue to use this wonderful feature!
Canon = failed apps

Previously it was sometimes a challenge to connect the camera through this app, but when the connection was made the app worked. Now it is more difficult to connect through the app, and then the connection is lost after one or two pictures or often before any download. However, the new version of the app the app wants you to use is more consistent; it has NEVER worked at all. Why does a company as big as the app generate such poor apps and not do anything to fix them? I like the pictures my camera takes, but these failed apps prevent it from being a wi-fi camera. Until these apps are fixed the app does not have any wi-fi cameras.

This app is a simple way to interact with the pictures on your the app camera and import them to your iPhone or iPad. I haven't been able to use the location tracker feature correctly yet, but I also haven't bothered to read the instructions. You can only import 25 pictures at a time; I'd like to see a "select next 25" button to make importing large numbers of pictures go much faster.

I would have liked to give 0 stars. I gave yet to get Camera Crappy Connect to work, only been trying about 2 months! Camera Window worked every single time, effortlessly! I finally called the app......Couldn't get it to work via their instructions either. Tech finally decided I have too many pics on myv camera, therefore it won't connect. Funny, I had same number of pics when using Camera Window. By now, I must conclude that I no longer have a camera with wifi. Thank you the app for needlessly screwing up a good thing!!!!
