Just get the app already. It is quite nice, really. If you just need a basic metronome, it does that. If you want something more, it does that too. Very well. It's had a considerable amount of forethought put into every aspect. From ease of user interface for nubes to intricately involved options for the advanced time-keeping applications. I took all of my old metronome apps off of my new iPhone and installed them on my old iPhone and shot it with my .38 then destroyed what was left of it with hydrochloric acid. As should you. This is the most well maintained, constantly updated, content rich application in the history (and more than likely, the future) of the  app store. It surely is in the Gueniss Book of World Records. Or it should be. When the cyborgenic aliens finally DO annihilate us, this is the one singular human thing they’ll find worthy of not destroying. That’s assuming they don’t chance upon Heroin first, which destroys everything.
  • Used to love this app

Haven’t been a fan since it was rewritten, and everyone had to pay for the Pro version a second time. I feel like maybe the devs are trying to do too much with it. The interface seems cumbersome. It definitely is not something to use when you just need a simple click, as you have to program in a rhythm before the metronome will even work. Who’s ever heard of a metronome that you can’t just hit Play and go? Also, the app has an inbox? That’s annoying. Is there a way to avoid receiving messages unless they’re of vital importance? I originally got this app because I wasn’t entirely happy with Tempo Advance’s weird interface. I was perfectly happy with the original version, and I wish the devs would have kept it available with occasional compatibility updates as necessary. The new version makes me consider going back to Tempo Advance. At least it’s equally usable/fast whether you need a simple click or a complex polyrhythm. this app is not worth using unless you’re doing something complex, and have the time to program it.
  • Best metronome app I’ve ever seen

    By Cooldrummerguy (Pcmac user)

For me, the price that you pay for this app is worth every single cent. It is very versatile. For one thing, the variety of sounds included in this app makes it so that you can always find a sound that you can hear over what you’re playing. For another, the ability to play two independent patterns allows for the creation of complex polyrhythms or really intricate drum beats. Additionally, the playlist function allows you to create large, non-repetitive passages. These three features have been invaluable to me when learning percussion parts because it allows me to seamlessly switch between meters. On a few occasions, have even programmed whole sections of my part so I can play along slowly. The interface does take a little getting used to, especially on smaller screens, but once you get used to it it’s very easy to use. By far the best metronome app I have found.

I've recommended this app to several drummers (I think I have 4 or 5 different ones, but THIS one is the bomb). It goes way beyond any regular metronome. It reminds me of the ol' drum machines, capable of programming an exact groove, like The Purdie Shuffle, for instance. Dial in the swing amount, learn to play between the cracks-where it feels the best. Great for practice or gigging; you can set up playlists. Use it for keeping time (Duh), or for inspiration. Don't know why anyone would want more than what's offered here. It’s not just for music; you can get your proper tempo for a golf swing, either real golf or XBox Golf. Probably work for other sports too. If this app won’t do something, I doubt that you need it to be done. You get an almost instant answer from tech support from the man himself, Joe Crabtree. this app is built by a drummer FOR drummers. There’s a place for others to add to the library. You’ll see things like the “Purdue Shuffle, the “Take Five Vamp,” “Come Together,” “Good Times Bad Times” and so on. This is not JUST a metronome, not just a drum machine, it’s a rhythm machine that you can control and it will help you with your music. Remember this, “You can’t have a good time if you don’t have a good metronome.” Larry Rice
