Works okay for me but needs more

This actually works to tone down the super annoying snoring that I have to sleep next to. It's much more annoying than the sounds in the app. I used the ocean sounds, and it's not as bad as the bird.
However, it won't run in the background so I can't use my iPhone (buy so-so apps) while trying to fall back asleep.
Also it won't save the sound bite selection I've made when I leave the app.

All this app does is play some really annoying sounds once it detects sound. You pick the sound. Annoying whistles, orchestra music, etc.
This software is just designed to cause the snorer to lose sleep. When they snore, it wakes them up. How is that helpful? And how is it helpful to the spouse who's sleeping next to them?
I don't get it. I've found one product that actually works for snoring. It's a mouthpiece which keeps the mouth slightly opened. You can also get it from a dentist.
What stupid software. The author obviously knows very little about what actually causes snoring.
