  • Are there better mobile tower apps?

    By Newtown Pippin (Pcmac user)

This app is very slow to display its data, even when connected with 4 bars of LTE. I question its accuracy because sometimes I drive to the location it indicates a tower is yet none is there. Aesthetically, it has room for improvement — a simpler, cleaner interface without tacky animations would be preferable. I understand that the publisher is trying to upsell the user to the paid version but (tasteful) advertising would be better than nagware.
  • Don’t waste your money. This app should be removed from the App Store.

    By D-Dub1963 (Pcmac user)

I bought the app to conduct an independent review. The accuracy of towers located through this app on the maps feature are non-existent or so far off it leaves me to believe they are plotting the locations using outdated data, not tower signal based GPS coordinates. I went to a known tower (AT&T) location, parked within 10 meters of the tower site and attempted to locate the tower. It was not found. I drove to locations where the app indicated towers were identified and they were non-existent. Every feature requires an upgrade, however, when the feature is purchased, any subsequent use of the upgrade requires an additional purchase of the previously made upgrade. There is an “error” message the pops up that indicates the app cannot connect to iTunes. These are just a few of the issues with the app, there are too many to write about. I was using a Gen 2 iPad Pro, and iPhone X, both with iOS 11.3.
  • Anti-Updated, non-GPS-locating, greedy

    By MacGrandpa2.0 (Pcmac user)

I've had this app for some time. I've known it to want $ before actually trying to present any information. Any feature you need, pay $1-3 per use, each time. Open it, no gps, shows me NYC. I last used this at Fort Knox 2 years ago trying to find actual cell towers, configuring best areas to set up the app hot spots and avoid interference from on-post radio transmitters. Even then, 1,000 miles from where I am now, it only worked as a peek; it opened up and showed you your immediate vicinity and a bunch of icons for various alleged towers that did not correspond with reality. To specifically look at anything, anywhere, on whatever map cost $$. I would pay a few dollars for this app if it weren't riddled with add-on, in-app purchases for anything you want to do or see other than just turning on the app! I'm deleting it, now. I hope it changes and becomes a bit more stable and a lot less greedy. - Major P, US Army.
  • Free is too expensive

    By Oldmanmerc (Pcmac user)

You cannot do a single thing in this app without an upgrade pop up asking for money. And when I say not a single thing I mean not even it’s primary function, tower information. If you just want to see a map of where towers “might be”, get it. If your looking to get any information about that tower it’s going to cost you. Want to know what frequencies the tower transmits? That’s an upgrade. Want to see a picture of the tower? That’s another upgrade. Tap on the tower location and a blurred out box pops up and disappears 1 Second later(your preview).Want the app to refresh itself during your session? That’s an upgrade. According to the app there’s a tower in my neighbors yard....there’s not. Uninstalling it immediately. For free it was just a waste of my time. For money? Heck no.
