  • So useful, so pretty and unobtrusive => top notch

By Mike Bradshaw (bmike) (Pcmac user)

I love elegant gadgets that help me simplify my life and this app does just that. It is well crafted, well thought out and is gorgeously designed. It does exactly what is needed, nothing more. I also appreciate reliable, small memory footprint apps and I've never once seen it soaking up CPU time, RAM or battery power. I don't like having a lot of add-ons in general, but this app is solid -- it feels like part of the OS and not something added.
  • hanging issue

    By mrwright136 (Pcmac user)

I've had this app on my phone since it came out and love it, and I love it just as much on the mac, in fact even more so since it acts as a "now playing" notifier that I finally replaced the aging Synergy with. All that being said, I find that the app will hang more than occasionaly, perhaps every other day, and I won't really notice until I either don't get feedback for switching songs, or I casually drag my mouse over the menubar and notice that I get the beachball whenever I'm on the icon. The only solution is quitting and restarting, which then ruins the order of my menubar icons (woe is me, right) I've tried to recreate the hang to see what causes it, but have been unsuccessful so far. I'd like to see that fixed, otherwise this is a top notch, 5-star app from great developers.
  • Beautifuly Simple and Simply Beautiful

    By Michael Bester (Pcmac user)

If you spend a lot of time on the computer listening to iTunes while you work, then you should do yourself a favor and install this app. It's one of those tools which does one thing and does it extremely well. While it is a simple utility and a unitasker, the thoughtfulness put into both the visual and interaction design make it a pleasure to use. Not only does it fill a need which you didn't necessarily realize existed, but after using it for a while, you'll wonder what you've been doing all that time without it. The IconFactory has been on a roll recently, and this app is a fantastic addition to their software lineup. This is a bargain at $4, but at the introductory price of $2, it's a steal.
  • Good stuff

    By gcoghill (Pcmac user)

I'm in the ranks of those working in silence for hours on end after a phone call or other break. I work form home and sit in front of my Mac all day. Can't tell you how many times I've realized I was sitting in unintended musical silence after needing to pause iTunes. Great looking solution, works perfectly. The $2 I spent was well worth it. After using this for a while, some things of note: - the app usually hangs when clicking the settings gear icon after initial launch. Annoying. - would like to control the length of the fade-in after the app starts your music back up (I want it to be longer). - would like to see more keyboard controls (prev/next song in particular) - would like to see a way to rate and see ratings of songs when playing (the menubar bezel is perfect for this). I realize some things may seem outside the core scope of the app 5, however I'm using another app to do those things and I'd like to ditch it. the app 5 is an itunes controller, it just needs a few more features — I'm not looking for the kitchen sink here.
