Works well on limited cases only

Works well but some limitations need to be addressed. First, if video is in H265 HEVC, although the app should just be copying the video stream, the output file produced is unplayable. Second, I have not found it possible to select any of the subtitle tracks in the input to have them copied to output. Third, it’s not clear in the interface, but you have to select Custom profile in order to process more than one audio track. Finally, after a conversion, it’s not possible to change the settings and convert the same file again: have the shut down and restart the app. This app has potential but it obviously in need of an update.

Visualhub was what I used before, but after Lion it's been tricky to use even with the manual updating.. It always frustrated me that the difference between MKV and M4v were minor, I just wanted a program that merely changed the jackets and encoded the audio different, and $2 for a nice simple interface to do it, and the fact its on the App Store, i feel i can trust it in some ways.. I'll gladly pay that over some $15 nonsense that comes up in google. Only real comment, is it would be nice to be able to drag multiple files into the source area. Otherwise was exactly what i was looking for, and is obviously faster than Visualhub.. i'm sure there is some other method to do this for free.. but when you're tired and about to go on a flight, and just want to convert MKVs for your iPad, and you aren't the most clued up geek.. what else can you do.. good thinking whoever made this app, and decided to price it at $2!
Subtitles .ttf files locked?

Transcoding an MKV to an M4V or MP4 works great. This app does that job well and it does that job fast. On my last review, I noted that the subtitle support did not work. This has been fixed - for the most part. Many animes and movies use a .ttf file to give their subtitles a font, font size, and look to them. These .ttf files are visible in the options, but are unable to be selected. Not being able to convert with these files results in videos with large, obtrusive subtitles - because the app uses default subtitle settings. I really hope this gets fixed - then this app will be PERFECT and I will be happy to give 5 stars and recommend it to everyone I know. I hope this gets fixed soon.
Worth the money.

Two bucks isn't a lot, ecspecially when some MKV files can't be converted using pass through in Quicktime 7 even with perian. Forget Quicktime X, it can't export. It's also WAY faster than any other converter that I've used–pass though or not. I only give it 4 stars because the interface is a bit confusing.
