Top Pcmac Reviews

  • A good place to look for answers, write-ups, pics, part reviews. But take any advice w grain salt.

I love jeep forum. My Jeeps a retired mechanic owned meticulously inspected 98 zj i6 4x my Grandad used for play and left to me when he passed. Im no gear head and the jeepj probably wouldn't/couldn't still be around if not for Forum . if a shop was swapping parts and charging for all the scheduled maintenance my zj wants I simply couldn't justify spending it on a 14 yr old 200k vehicle. But thanks to alot of hard work and reading over jeepers post w similar problems I've learned lot more than I ever expected and gained a new passion for jeeps and 4x4 vehicles alike. My next vehicle is gonna be a jeep. And with the forum I will hopefully be able to keep my grandads zj alive for a long time. Only big negatives are at first when learning the site navigation, and how searching forums works. Also definitely get second opinions, and don't believe some dude and do a mod/repair when u yourself haven't researched the task and have a basic understanding of how your jeep works. Some people intentionally try to mess with people and give wrong info to a newbie bc they know more or some bs.. Or maybe less in some occasions who knows. dont take posts for fact tho lol. For me Hanesguide+jeepfourm+any4x4JEEP= Winning
  • Great Info, But...

I'm a supporting member of JF, and refer to it frequently to learn more about my TJ. There are a number of obvious experts who regularly contribute their knowledge and experience to assist diagnosing and repairing a wide variety of issues. It's also fun, or sometimes not so fun, to follow a thread that turns into a bull fight. My only serious complaint is with the mobile app: profiles are masked, so if that information would be helpful in assisting members with an issue, it can't be seen, even though i know im logged in. Why is that, and why has that not been addressed? Consequently,, I usually pass on the app and access JF via the browser.
  • Love the app, but has some bugs

    By dsjr2006 (Pcmac user)

This app is a great way to stay connected with the forum. Search works surprisingly well and I love being able to post pics on the go, but quite often I get a message saying "connection error" when trying to view pictures in a thread or the picture that comes up is not the one selected. Beyond that the text editing can be a little buggy such as trying to use the cursor to select and edit a word. Other than that everything works as expected and works great.
  • Great but not

    By 13Bucky13 (Pcmac user)

If it were easier to search through the 100,000 threads to find what you need, it's right on but you can't. Then if you post something in the wrong you should be able to move it, but if you don't the room lead tells you should post else where.... They should have the capability to move it for you, as they are the leaders of the room... And not make a newbie feel like they're dumb.
