Perfect for keeping tasting notes and tracking your wines!
By James Clements (Pcmac user)
I've been using the this app app for about the past six months. Granted there are very few wine apps, it does a very good job. Firstly, the tags function as a quick way for me to evaluate what wines we enjoyed and which ones we didn't - regardless if we tried it by purchasing a bottle or tried it at a tasting. So the next time I go to the wine shop to pick up more, I can use that information to avoid certain types of wine or certain vineyards. Moving on, the app allows one to document a wine's appelation, region, area, type, and varietals in the wine. Again, this is very useful for making future wine purchases. Lastly, the app helps me keep track of the wine that I have already. You can set up your virtual storage system just like you have it set up in reality, and you can put bottles in your virtual storage just like you have them in your actual one. This is very convenient when you have quite a few bottles and want to avoid pulling multiples out to find the one you're looking for. Since you've created a catalogue system for your wines using this app, you can also look at the statistics of your collection (number and percentage by vintage, type, and country of origin). Very fun for a wine nerd for sure!

Good integration with Cellartracker
By B bar X rancher (Pcmac user)
There are some bugs in this work in progress, but the developers are working hard to make improvements. As it stands now, I love the app. I often input data in cellar tracker first then import it into this app. That populates more fields automatically. There is a lot of information available in this app and it takes awhile to input the data, but once a reference is in place adding bottles is far easier. I would like to see a 100 point tasting note with more of a breakdown of categories, or the ability to create my own note. However, I am overall very pleased with the product and the price is worth it. Once again, I believe one can get better performance from this app when integrating it with cellar tracker. Some of the newer web search tools are a step in the right direction of finding and importating, rather than generating data. The developers are actively improving an excellent product.

Disappointed because - it doesn’t work
By djvisocky (Pcmac user)
It’s really too bad, because prior versions of this application worked really well. Then, along came El Capitan and this app’s inability to update in a timely manner. Those of us that were dedicated waited around 10 months, I believe, for this app to get it together. Then, when the update came, there were no instructions for backups or updates, and when the auto-updates came through, most of us lost our wine databases (see Facebook posts). It’s been a disaster for everyone. Even with both the Mac (desktop) version and iPad (iOS) versions updated, it still won’t sync - and it will wipe out one of your databases. Storedata errors are as common as flies on garbage. And support? Forget it. Go look at their web site - about 7 updates in a year - with no real information other than apologies for delays. Emails to support go completely unanswered. So, it pains me to say - because I was a true this app supporter until the past year, but don’t spend your money here. It will go into the black hole of wasted apps. There are better apps, that are well supported, for around $10 on the App Store.

Historic Bugs Addressed by Making App Impossible to Launch
By Epjohn (Pcmac user)
I am a long-time user of this app and have suffered through the years dealing with all kinds of bugs in both the Mac and mobile versions. With this version, however, this app has outdone itself, i.e., the app will not launch at all! Rather, the icon appears briefly in the tray and then closes. I attempted to download a fresh copy of the app, but could not do so without moving the existing app to the trash. When you do that, it will allow you to download a new copy - if you pay $35 again! Geesh! I wrote to this app support several days ago seeking assistance with my problem. Unfortunately, no response has been forthcoming. Although I have invested many hours entering the contents of my cellar into this program, I have no choice but to give up and start over with a different wine cellar management app.
