I make public presentations all the time. this app is the most important tool that I have for running my presentations cleanly. All of the junk on my computer stays nicely hidden from the audience. this app also keeps my working environment under control, removing clutter from my workspace. I could not be more thrilled to have this little application!

I do not keep a tidy the app. It’s shameful but, there you have it. I’m a mess. I also do a lot of web meetings where I am demonstrating or otherwise showing my system. People are nice to me but, I feel self-conscious. Enter this app. It’s true that I sometimes use it just for less visual clutter and that’s nice, but the big deal is that I turn it on before I share my screen. It makes it so that the demo is less distracted and looks a lot nicer. I’ve been using it for a few years and never had one single bit of trouble with it. Go ahead and buy it.

As a graphic artist I enjoy making the app images but inevitably the are colorful enough to cause some visual confusion when using applications like Photoshop or other graphics apps which work best on a neutral visual background. this app allows me to instantly apply a 60% gray backdrop to eliminate the problem while still indulging my enjoyment of colorful graphics. I also find that using it to create a single window point of focus allows me better concentration at each individual task. I used three or four different apps in the past to accomplish visual isolation but DC was the one I settled on as it had no problems with other aspects of the operating system. There were no hidden 'gotchas'. I hope the developer makes a little money because this little utility has been valuable for me for years.
It's a must if you're a writer...especially screen or theater.

Although there are some writing programs that fill the entire screen so you're not distracted, Final Draft, and Microsoft Word, don't have this ability. Enter the app Curtains. In about 30 seconds you can easily cover the clutter of your the app with a nice, neutral green curtain, or any photo in your library.... And for you minimalist out there, you can select any color to flood your screen. You have the chose of whether just your writing program is the only thing visible, or writing and any other program. Gets rid of all the background clutter. Really lovely. I'd love it if you had a few different color curtains, and perhaps some other neutral, soft pictures to chose from.... Sand would be nice or something soft. Thanks for the program. In 10 minutes of use, i got my $1.99 value out of it. Peaceful eyes.
