The search will reveal the VVVVVV app icon. Open, then click "Install".
Once VVVVVV is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including VVVVVV.

Beautifully Nostalgic!!!

Since all of the other review are just telling you to BUY IT without any further details, I will try to explain it for the people, like me, that just stumbled upon this game in the mac app store... In this game you are a "captain" of a space ship of some kind. Something terrible goes wrong and sends you and your crew members into a different dimension. You have find everyone and somehow peice you ship back together (I think?)... This game seems like a tribute to the style of video games in the 80s. From the 8bit graphics, to the circuit bent music/sound, to the cheesy storyline and script... It's litterally like an 80's throwback game, but it's not sluggish or glitchy like games from the 80's, instead it plays very smooth and FAST! That all being said, every other reviewer is absolutely correct! BUY THIS GAME NOW!!!!!! If you were any kind of gamer in the 80s, not buying this game could potentially destroy anything left of that kid inside you...
Great game that has a proper retro feel

Great to see someone making a game that feels like it could have been made as a CGAj PC game from the past and make it fun and engaging. Personally the chip tune sound track is the big draw for me (the album is available in iTunes--search for PPPPPP). If you find the challenge too hard, turn on invinciblity (in Game Options, Accessibility Options, invincibility) and do it from the start (enabling this "cheat" wipes out your progress). Sure you blow through the game much faster, but it still remained fun for me. :)

The Mechanics of the game take a little bit to get use to (your character moves very fast) but it's highly addictive. Currently I'm stuck at the last crewmember but its an amazing game for the price and diserves a download if you're a fan of retro gaming. I like to think the game was based on the superve chiptunes soundtrack. You might get frustrated at some parts but if your a vet to Megaman or Ninja Gaiden this will be a snap. What I would like to see is some new map packs coming out, and maybe a few more hints on where exactly to go in some areas (the world in the game is pretty big and not linear).

I spent the last 6 hours of my life toiling away at what i call the best platformer game of all time. The level design is absolutely awesome! This game will spark every emotion you have. There were some challenges in there that made me so frustrated, like that Vini Vidi Vici room... I wanted to throw my Macbook Pro on the ground, but then i managed to figure it out and it was the most rewarding thing ever to happen to me. I strongly recommend this game! There is no reason why you cant scroll up and press that "Buy Now" button. For 3.99 you are getting a steal.
