What is NMEAremote?

The NMEAremote app allows users to connect their iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch to their ship's network and navigation system, providing them with all the important information they need at sea. Download an Android emulator for PC:
Get either Bluestacks or the Nox App >> . We recommend Bluestacks because you can easily find solutions online if you run into problems while using it. Download Bluestacks PC software Here >> .

Install the emulator:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.

Using NMEAremote on PC [Windows 10/ 11]:

Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "NMEAremote"
The search will reveal the NMEAremote app icon. Open, then click "Install".
Once NMEAremote is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including NMEAremote.

However, it crashed when receiving NMEA of TCP/IP on iOS 10.2, which is a bummer. I use this app underway all the time. I miss it. Please update soon! Update: I did figure out how to turn off sentences that make crash (which aren’t even on my network anyway). This is the most useful app I have in my arsenal. I don’t sail with out it. My Mac below decks runs PolarNavy and does all the heavy lifting while I sit on deck with this app. Works great!

Extremely useful app

Recently made extensive use of the app, both on iPhone and iPad on a two week trip around Bonin Islands. Used a Latronix WiBox transmitting NMEA data via UDP. Worked flawlessly. The main use was to have the ability to be in one's bunk and see what was going on topside when off watch, or just coming on watch. The alarms were also helpful in making sure we didn't get lazy with what sails to have up based wind speeds and angle. The author is one of the best developers I have come across in terms of willingness to work with users and incorporate feedback or make slight adjustments. Look for updates, as the developer is constantly improving the app. Get it if you are on a boat with wifi and NMEA data, you won't be disappointed.
