What is AVPlayerHD? The AVPlayerHD is an app that allows users to play almost any computer video file format on their iPad without the need for converting hassles. It also supports external subtitle files and has post-processing features such as contrast and saturation control. Users can control the playback speed and enjoy additional features such as split view and picture-in-picture mode. The app also supports USB/WIFI transfer and has a folder management system.

Software Features and Description

1. - Hybrid decoding mode is added and now it is able to play high resolution videos by using hardware accelerator feature embedded in iPhone/iPad even for mkv or avi in h264.

2. The AVPlayerHD can play almost any computer video file format such as AVI, Xvid, WMV and much more clearly and effortlessly.

3. - When the file formats are available for MKV or AVI the player supports hardware decoding.

4. - MP4, MOV, M4V formats that QuickTime supports can be played up to 1080P by using H/W Decoder but, Post Processing function isn’t provided.

5. - Application may crash in iPhone 3GS / iPod Touch due to heavy use of memory in Hybrid decoding.

6. Try turning off all application running in background and reboot the device by holding down sleep mode button for long time.

7. - XVID,AVI,WMV,RMVB,ASF,H264,MKV… most of all movie file formats.

8. - High quality video clips of 720P (1280 x 720) or more are recommended for MP4 format.

9. - If screen shakes it means hardware decoding is not supported.

10. So if you enjoy watching videos on your iPad, then the AVPlayerHD is an absolute necessity.

It is my number one video player for watching music videos and I using it for many years now but I really want to play VP9 videos but it plays them only in SW mode and they look a little bit stretched especially in 4K. Please fix VP9 and if possible please add HW support for this VP9 format. I don’t want to install another video player for playing VP9 videos, I like this app.

A brilliant app & worthy! It was better if the app had the ability to export files to other apps and ability to unzip the zipped files! It has a bug that had not been fixed during updates, that it crashes and exits as i try to choose second audio track on the movie :(

This is one of the best video player I have used. However, there seems a bug. When I connected it with Google drive, it only lists up to 100 files or folders. I have no idea how to find the rest of them.

This is as good of a player as you need. It does it all and so much more. Nothing else like it, VLC or otherwise. Plus long time customer and I bought Pro with my iPad 1. This is a iPad Pro stilll running version bought years ago. Nothing but good... They also have avistreamer which ROCKS.
