  • Suggestions to the developer to make the app more responsive

    By interfaceSavvy (Pcmac user)

If I type in or dictate something and then I discover that language A —-> language B setting is actually inverted and I then make it language B —-> language B then it wipes out what I have already typed in and I need to type anew Please fix it to not wipe out what’s already typed in even if I change direction settings between any two given languages Second suggestion Provide a way to purposely wipe out what’s already typed in - to start anew For example it could be a little x in a little circle on the right of the writing area Right now one must press backspace continuuously and that takes time when one wishes to input a new word or phrase Third suggestion Invert the order of the work pad where the inputs and outputs appear Have the newest output translation appear on the bottom of the scroll rather than on the top Such that the input and output could be seen in a single screen rather than having to scroll up to see the translation which is annoying and slow when some precious translations are still there All these friendly suggestions are in the spirit of the fastest and most efficient usage of the app in real time Developers: please take them seriously if you wish for a better product This is based on my recent trip to Italy in which I used the app repeatedly
  • So far this app does not translate Ukrainian to English well

By Justin Other Jeffrey (Pcmac user)

I was planning a trip to the Ukraine and I purchased the Pimsleur Ukrainian audiobook course and now I am currently in Kiev Ukraine. I downloaded this app to help me communicate with the native speakers here. I figured that I could utilize the things that I learned in the Pimsleur course in addition to using this app to help me communicate. Unfortunately when I spoke a few simple phrases this the app did not translate the words properly from Ukrainian to English for example the word Українською which is supposed to be Ukrainian in English was pronounced English in English. Not a Good Start! Another example “Я розумію українською не дуже добре” is translated in to English as “I understand English is not very good” which should say “I speak Ukrainian not very well” or “I don’t speak Ukrainian very well”. I sent them my feedback and we will see if they respond in a timely manner. In the meantime I will keep giving them a chance but right now my confidence is very low.
  • Very promising app, could be best if...

    By Lilaki69 (Pcmac user)

This has the potential to surpass Google Translate and be number one. It does seem more accurate but for Japanese I wish it displayed formal and informal (casual) translation instead if formal which my Japanese boyfriend would probably prefer informal speech. Also this translates to kanji. I wish it had option to list hiragana/katakana next to kanji, like 私(わたし)はねこ。 Also I wish there was heart option so I can save certain translations even if I clear history. If I want to delete those hard ones I can just swipe and delete as this option is already set up. Lastly, in in area where I type my text, I wish it had an “x” so I could clear that box fast and enter a new text I want translated. Otherwise I have to press down and select all and cut to delete (cumbersome). I feel if this app had all these fixes it would be even more revolutionary and take over Google translate and be number one. I messaged support with all this. I hope they ate listening. Thank you.

When I first met my future wife, Alma Delia Meza, she could not speak any English. I could not speak Spanish. We had 2 dictionarios. Later, I found this wonderful app and it revolutionized our ability to communicate. It’s so easy for us now. Thank you so much. Steve & Alma Taylor
