  • Review update oct. 10, 2017 DON't download app😡

    By Ivalis88 (Pcmac user)

I just love how this app get worse with each update! Done! Goodbye the app hello Strava, way more user friendly and does not crash every 5 f... second and lets me see my activity whenever the heck I want! So dissappointed I have been a user for maybe almost 5 years. I used tp swear by this app recommend it to everyone and you have converted it into a piece os trash! I can't see my activity anymore, i have to either run or add more distance and not even. FIX IT ALREADY! Sick of all the glitches and crashes. You guys used to be great. If it ain't broke don't fix it! Sometimes it crashes and it takes 2-3 tries before I can start running. I would love to be able to choose more than one running area since where I run is trail, track, and road. i run most days on all three. I do miss going into my profile and friends profile, and seeing fastest, longest runs, and times. MISS DEEPLY OLD PROFILE, much more life before. There should be another way of communication with friends such as private messages or leave messages on their profile( message board)that'd be fun. This app crashes way to much and I can't see me history anymore whenever I want unless i go for another run, don't like this. STILL CRASHING, STILL FREEZES MY PHONE, STILL CAN't SEE ACTIVITY, STILL FREEZES AFTER RUN CAN't SEE MY SPLITS NOTE MY SHOES. Didn't use it for a month thinking it would get better, nope still crap. You guys are loosing users
  • Still the best running app, but the old version was better

    By mkral (Pcmac user)

This is still my favorite running app, by far. The old version of the app was still slightly better for me though. the app fixed the issue with controlling music & the app from the headphone controls, which was my biggest pet peeve (this worked fine in older versions of the app, but was broken when the app went to version 4. The only remaining issue for me is that the app doesn’t handle music correctly if you are listening to another audio source before a run. I like to listen to audio books & podcasts in the car (I use the audible and downcast apps, not the official apple ones, maybe that’s part of the issue, I don’t know), but even though my music choice for the run is set to an iTunes playlist, it continues to play the audiobook/ podcast I was listening to in the car. The old versions (up to 3.x) handled this correctly, starting the iTunes playlist as soon as the run started. Not a complete deal killer, but it sure would be nice if they fixed that. Aside from that issue, it’s a great app. I’ve been using it since 2006 (when it only worked on the iPod nano, and it still works great for my needs.
  • Decent, but having syncing issues

    By Burrito 20 (Pcmac user)

Doing the coaching program and it’s been working pretty well. Only big issue I keep seeing is the runs don’t always sync with the coaching program. For whatever reason, some runs will not be acknowledged as being done even though the app will bring the runs to my attention at the beginning of the following week because they have not been assigned. The app will force me to assign it to a run for the current week, but will not give me the option to assign it to the properly scheduled run from the previous week. The date and mileage show the same date as the coaching program for the previous week, but I still have to add it to my current week. The app has a record of when I did the scheduled run, just let me assign it to last week! I get it, technology and apps won’t always sync properly, so at least give me the option to fix it manually when technology falls short. Would be nice to compare adjusted vs. non-adjusted schedule for the week side-by-side to see how much you’ve deviated from your original schedule. Also, can we have a less cheesy motivational speaker option for all the benchmark runs after the first? It just repeats the same one over and over again like it’s your first run. Can we just shut it off or have the coach tell you the minimum for the activity (Start slow, speed up, everything you’ve got.... ).
  • Open NRC on iPhoneX, Apple Watch, start run on phone!

    By ireadonthego (Pcmac user)

On Oct 31, I ran 8.1 miles to reach the 100 km goal for the month. As usual, I started the run on my Apple watch 3, so I could monitor heart rate and pace. I wear my iPhone X in a the app armband for GPS. At the end of the run, it never synced back to my phone: usually just a few minutes after I finish a run on my watch with my iPhone with me, the run will show up in the NRC app on my phone so I can apply it to my running plan, and enter my effort, where, and notes. It never showed up in my iPhone NRC app, so it looks like I did not complete the October 100km challenge. I called them about it, and they said it was a known bug, they were working on it, and would be in touch with me in a few days. Today, I held the phone in a hand strap case so I could use the phone screen easily. I did a QuickStart Run (warmup), then a Speed Run (6x400m), and then ran home with another QuickStart run. For all 3, I had NRC open on my watch and phone, but _started_ the run on my phone, which in turn started the run on my watch! This way, I could see ongoing heart rate on both devices, and could push the Lap button on my phone at the end of the 400m reps. I do prefer being able to simply Start a run from my watch and Apply it to the Plan later on my phone, but for now, this is a work-around.
