  • Computer Opponent Cheats?

    By Azalard (Pcmac user)

This game is hard to find, so I was happy to see it in the App Store. Overall, it's fun and mindless, just like playing Solitaire on your work PC. The platform is quick and efficient (e.g. no frills or silly graphics), and the cards are large and easy to identify. This game is easily playable on an iPhone or tablet. My problem with this game is that the computer opponent seems to have the advantage during most matches. It will either shut you out completely, or magically pull all the necessary safeties to win. In addition to that, many of the safeties always seem to be at the end of the stack, so the cards don't appear to be adequately shuffled. Even on the easiest setting, the odds seem to favor the computer. With regards to the gameplay, it's fairly quick and easy. It would be nice if you could tap the cards you wanted to discard rather than having to drag them. That's a big issue for me right there. It slows down gameplay. Also, the game tabulates the scores incorrectly. It gives you the same amount of points for playing a safety and a Coupe Fourre. You should only get the extra points when you play the safety on top of a hazard. Overall, this game is fun, but the other version in the App Store seems to be a bit better. I would recommend playing both of them before making a final decision.
  • Disappointed

I love this game and the free version doesn’t tally the score to 5000. I purchased the full game and it’s no different from the free version. It’s a waste of money.
  • Fun, but a but shaky on rules

    By Epilimnion (Pcmac user)

Mille Bornes is one of my favorite card games, and this title does it well in that it keeps to the original deck. The game uses coup-fourré incorrectly (it should only be counted when a safety is played IMMEDIATELY after a hazard), but other than that I have no complaints. The interface is simple and intuitive (I like that I can touch a card and then the discard pile to discard, rather than having to drag it). If Coup-Fourré is fixed, I will have no complaints!

Love this game and have been obsessively checking the app store for an app for this game. One suggestion: on mileage cards make the center of the card the mileage (similar to speed limit card) but without the circle. Then put arrows top and bottom. The small numbers on the current mileage card can be difficult to read.
