  • Not quite there yet :(

    By audio guy (Pcmac user)

While this latest update at least fixes the SPL meter that apparently stopped working when I upgraded to iOS9, the app is still quite buggy on my iPhone 6. Maybe it’s just me, but it feels pretty far from stable. For example, if I go to the tone generator and then change some of the settings, make it generate a tone, I can’t seem to get the tone to stop unless I make some changes to the scope. Pressing the play/pause button doesn’t seem to do anything but lower the level a bit. Maybe there are 2 generators and I’m only stopping one of them? Just feels buggy to me. But the graphics are quite great! I look forward to it being 100% stable!
  • A downgrade from previous version

Although there are some added features within the app I DEFINITELY MISS the manual "Tone Sweep" that was in the older version. As a sound engineer this feature used to be quite handy in "live" situations where I could be mixing a band in a loud environment and listen to the frequency which was "loading up" in the room while holding the phone to my ear and manually scrolling the tone sweep until it matched. Then I'd just look at the phone and "voila" ...there's the trouble spot! Then I could address the specific frequency with the console parametric EQ. The best part of this was just being able to sweep until the match was made BY EAR... I have other analyzer apps but they are more full-band and they measure all the noise within the environment so the reading is not as precise as by ear. HUGE MISTAKE in losing that feature, the new "sweeps" are nice in a quiet room where you have some time to spend alone with the PA system but NOTHING beat that old feature in my ear. Also buggy now
  • Does not work after they updated it!

    By ortofon2m (Pcmac user)

What was a very good tool with intuitive interface, now is very buggy and has added stop/play buttons for more steps to go through. The sine wave tone generator only works intermittently, there is a delay when "X"-ing out of a screen (also a new added step), and my iPhone 5s gets hotter than a mother and will drop the battery from 100% to 70% in about 10 minutes of "trying" to use the tool. I'm on iOS 9.0. Do not purchase this tool if you are looking - it used to be great, then they updated it to what is now an alpha version - worthless garbage.
  • Was Better Before...

    By riffraffery (Pcmac user)

I use the tone generator all the time when trying to find the exact frequency of modes in a room. What made you decide to make it less intuitive and more difficult to use with the latest version? The slider was great. Now I have to dial in frequencies a number at a time?? Also, pausing the tone once started doesn't seem to work. Not going to mess with it anymore now, but hope you get it fixed up. Always liked the app before.
