Tone generator pro
By Scrootchgun (Pcmac user)
As a novelty, it’s pretty neat. As a working tool I see two things that would be helpful on this app:
1) A button to give a 440 Hz sine wave (A below middle C on the piano). This is the note most musical instruments use to tune.
2) Some way to more precisely tune to the frequency desired. As it is, when I use the slide I can only get close to what I want, and when I lift my finger from the screen the frequency changes.

Potential for evil ...

I downloaded this to test a subwoofer with some low frequency sine waves, but first did a quick hookup to my computer speakers and cranked it up to 17,000 hertz. With kids in the house. The three adults present could not detect a thing. The kids, on the other hand, covered their ears and bent at the knees, like William Shatner in some cheesy Star Trek episode being zapped with some pain-ray device. I immediately turned it off, but couldn't help but imagine the havoc one might wreak with a couple of small battery powered tweeters hidden on oneself ... say, at the local Chuck-E-Cheese. Not that I ever would, of course.
