  • Dish

    By SoonerSon66 (Pcmac user)

I really like the very clear picture that we get with dish and enjoy dish anywhere, great when traveling; however, I’m very disappointed that we are not getting one of our local stations, and now we are not getting Cinemax or HBO, when we signed up with dish a lot of our decision was because we could get all the local stations, I understand about contract negotiations between dish and our local abc station, but it is just about the last straw not getting both Cinemax, hbo and the local abc station, seems to me that dish has broken their contract with me by not providing what I signed up for, being disabled the hbo and Cinemax was our main form of entertainment, and the local abc affiliate carried quite a few on the college football game I wanted to watch, I think dish should bite the bullet and pay the networks and provide we consumers what we signed up to receive, it’s not our fault that it is going to cost dish more money, they should have to honor the contract that we, the consumers, wanted to watch, I know that there are options and have started to check into them to replace dish, not my first choice, just want what I signed up to receive
  • Doesn’t work with IOS13

    By Slots Fan (Pcmac user)

The highly anticipated release of IOS 13 has been in the news for months. So, why in God’s name wasn’t Dish prepared for this? I use an iPad Pro and since updating to IOS 13, the app crashes when trying to use the Guide. Boom! Press the Guide button and it immediately goes back to the Home Screen. Please fix soon. And while you are at it, please fix the Menu bar at the bottom of the screen so that iPad Pro users have the ability to make those selections easier. The Menu bar has been only half visible for many months now. With every new update I had hoped that Dish would have addressed this issue, but it still remains only half visible on the iPad Pro. It’s a good app when it works, but these glitches are frustrating. RESPONSE TO DEVELOPERS: Your response to me indicates that Dish has a new release of the Dish Anywhere app and that I should update my present app. Where is this new release? There are two Dish apps in the App Store. One is for use with an iPhone or iPod touch. I do not need or want that one. The other is for use with an iPad (iPad Pro in my case). This is the app I am currently using (it is Version 7.27.4) and it is the app that is presenting the problems I described to you earlier today. So, it doesn’t seem like your recommendation is actually a solution to the problem.
  • Dish is better than Direct TV

    By Wallwrecker (Pcmac user)

I had Direct tv since 2004. At that time it surpassed Pine Tree cable and Dish Satellite at that time so I joined Direct Tv at that time. I asked neighbors about who to use for TV Cell phone etc , the answer was Direct tv and Cellular One. I’ve had both for a long time. Ever since AT&T company bought out Directv , I guess they think there so BIG the little people don’t matter. To start with they set appointments and come late and don’t care and say we are here now. I had three appointments and they were late all three times. No big deal to them.I have a lot more than this to share, but will do it on there site. Dish has come a long way. There customer service seems great. So far. I’ve only been with you for a Month. That’s why only for stars, so far. So keep up the great work. Mean what you say and say what you mean. Don’t be a Driectv. I’m sure you will earn your fifth star. The only thing wrong is my Service tech. Was great explained everything and when I went to do the survey it had timed out. I forgot so I dropped it to three stars. I’m still wanting to do the survey still it’s only fair for him to enable to complete it. Sorry for the book. Keep up the good work. Mickey
  • App will no longer even open on any of my iPads

    By CathieLB (Pcmac user)

8/5/18: Rock bottom. No apps on my iDevices will even open now. When I lived in the city, I subscribed to Comcast cable. And , while they are the worst company on the planet, I have to admit that the one thing they did do well was their app. So, I got spoiled. Now that I'm retired and living in a rural area, DISH is my choice. Their service is great, but their app - not so much. I have DSL with 12 Mbps down, so there's ample bandwidth. Whenever I choose to "transfer" a recording to my device, most of the time it fails and I have to shut the app down and re-open to make the transfer. Then, while playing the transferred show, many times it just hangs up and stops, requiring me to shutdown and restart the app in order to continue watching. And there's no "resume" feature, so I have to search for where I left off watching. Also, the app doesn't always recognize that there is an Internet connection. Just lots of little annoyances that add up to an unpleasant experience overall.
