Software Features and Description

1. Jasuto allows you to visually construct your own synths/effects, and use them to make sequences all on your device! With the addition of a fully-featured sampler you can now record/resample/edit, and even create entirely new samples by drawing right in the app.

2. Jasuto uses the relative position of nodes and their connections to control the sound.

3. Jasuto comes installed with 75+ modules as well as 200+ pre-loaded scenes and samples.

4. Each of the modules have been hand-optimized for your device's CPU, allowing you to create extremely complex scenes.

5. Jasuto is the worlds first (and most powerful) modular synthesizer for the iDevices.

6. So the scene not only represents the synthesis structure, but also a custom multi-touch control surface.

7. Motion can be recorded per node giving you rich, flexible automation.

8. Connections can be created automatically by simply dragging nodes around, or manually.

9. Each wire can be double-tapped to allow even more control of each connection.

  • Deep and intuitive

    By V. Zocko (Pcmac user)

This is my favorite app right now. It's very fun to play with, but also seriously capable. I'm still sort of green when it comes to electronic music production and I still have a lot to learn, but using this app is helping me understand a lot of features of the other programs I've been using by having the same tools in an intuitive interface. It's also made some of my other apps a bit redundant, since I can basically create more tweakable versions of them within this app. It's great wether trying to achieve something specific with meticulous detail, or just experimenting with the nodes to see what happens. I only wish I wasn't such a late comer, so I could have grabbed the VST version, which is apparently no longer available. this app is wonderful. Get it.
  • Amazing modular synth updated to 64 bit!

    By ajp 〰 (Pcmac user)

I never write reviews, but I had express my joy and admiration to the Dev for updating to 64 bit! this app is one of the most powerful modular environments around (FFT analysis and spectral effects) but with an amazing design focused on the fact that this is running on a touchscreen platform. The distance between nodes affects their modulation strength, so you can "play" your scenes - and, even better, with motion recording, those modulations become complex LFOs. No idea if the Dev will have time to add in modern features (Ableton Link, AUv3, etc.), but regardless, this is still amazingly capable after all these years (and with FFT and motion recording more capable than other, more recent, options) and well worth adding to the collection of any audio explorer.
  • Worth the money

    By Zerpk (Pcmac user)

This app is easily the most powerful synth in the app store, but it's developer seams to have abandoned the project. Bugs and requests go unchecked for months and is missing some pretty basic stuff. CONSIDERING how great this app is, it's a shame the dev doesn't communicate with his customers at all. To his credit last I heard he is working on this app Studio. You cannot record past 47 seconds, no core midi, the interface can be a bit clumsy past the basic stuff, and you cannot sequence past 4 bars. That said, If this app Studio is a update then definitely buy this app, if not be wary of a dead end.
  • The best

    By porfiry (Pcmac user)

this app is easily the best balance of raw power, flexibility and ease of use to be found in iOS land. I'm sure it's very difficult to remove all bugs from software this complex, but in the current iteration Chris has done a great job of getting rid of all the glaring usability issues that plagued earlier versions, and this app now fulfills all the promise that was there in 2009. While not for the faint of heart or the rompler-lover, this app is a serious tool for noisemaking. It's an invaluable learning aid for those thinking of getting into hardware modular; most techniques used in this app are directly applicable to that realm. Still great after you own hardware as a sketchpad for your patching ideas, or just to keep up your chops wherever you're at. To get such limitless power in hardware...I'm not sure $50k worth of Eurorack would be able to match this app running on any iPad or iPhone you can buy right now. In a couple years it might take $100k. Seriously. You want 30 oscillators? 14 filters? 6 different delay lines? A dozen envelopes? No problem! Get out your wallet and keep funding this guy, because I want more! More!
