I had the old version. Love the new design. Simple and clean and very easy to use. When they first updated there were some issues but those have been quickly resolved. This app works great. Very fast to get the course loaded and ready to play. Love the course maps to see layout of each hole. They even added a nice distance overlay feature which is useful.
GPS Too Slow

This would be a useful app if the correct yardage would show up BEFORE I hit my shot. I tried the app for two rounds on the same golf course and found it very frustrating. I would say that well over half of the time, I had to hit my shot before the correct yardage appeared. Sometimes is shows no yardage at all while it is connecting and sometimes it shows the wrong yardage. Either way, you're out of luck. Sometimes even after it seemed to have settled on a yardage, it would change as much as 7 yards while staying in the same position. As far as I'm concerned, as a golf GPS, this app has no value to me. Maybe it's the GPS signal on my iPhone 3GS or maybe it's the app - who knows. The only reason I gave this app 2 stars is because it's well designed and very easy to use. It would be nice if it auto advanced to the next hole, but still easy enough to do it manually. One more thing to keep in mind, is that your phone automatically turns off after a few seconds, which means that you have to turn the phone back on every time you want a yardage. Handheld devices stay on all the time and in experience, settle on a yardage much quicker.

Someone had their creative cap on when they designed this app. Simple interface, lightweight and all-encompassing, I swear it lowered my handicap. Discounted greens fees are also much appreciated when booking any of the NYC metro courses. Recommend fully!

App very slow to initiate, cumbersome to search and find course. While playing, it is slow to update yardages. I come back after a shot and find it changed by 5 or more yards. If I receive text on phone and respond, I have to reinitiate app, search for course, hole, etc. Handicapper can't handle courses with three nines, only accepts score for one nine at a time and treats it as 18....though it has lowered my round avg and handicap by doing so to a zone I'd love to play in. Have called support several times with no response to voicemail. Got it as gift, so very hard to complain / replace :-(
