Software Features and Description

1. Planisphere shows all 88 constellations and their boundaries, 9096 naked eye stars, the Messier deep sky catalogue, the Sun, Moon, planets and the now dwarf planet Pluto.

2. You can use the compass and accelerometer to show the sky in the direction the phone is being held for the selected time.

3. Moon, Mercury, Mars, Venus, Jupiter and Saturn atlases are also available on the App Store.

4. Planisphere is an astronomy application that lets you use pinch and finger gestures to manipulate a map of the sky.

5. These can be searched and then displayed if above the horizon for the selected time.

6. The date, time and location can be changed.

7. There is also a realtime mode that will update to the current time.

8. Rise and setting times are available for all named objects.

9. With GPS you can find your location or you can click on a world map or select a city.

10. You can also set a Night Light' which gives the map a red tint for nighttime viewing.

11. As you zoom in finer detail comes into view.

Download and install the Planisphere app on your Windows 10,8,7 or Mac in 4 simple steps below:

Download an Android emulator for PC and Mac:
Get either Bluestacks or the Nox App >> . We recommend Bluestacks because you can easily find solutions online if you run into problems while using it. Download Bluestacks Pc or Mac software Here >> .

Install the emulator on your PC or Mac:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.

Using Planisphere on PC [Windows 7/ 8/8.1/ 10/ 11]:

Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "Planisphere"
The search will reveal the Planisphere app icon. Open, then click "Install".
Once Planisphere is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including Planisphere.
Now enjoy Planisphere on PC.

How to download and use Planisphere App on Windows 11

To get Planisphere on Windows 11, check if there's a native Planisphere Windows app here » ». If none, follow the steps below:

Download the Amazon-Appstore » (U.S only)
- Click on "Get" to begin installation. It also automatically installs Windows Subsystem for Android.
- After installation, Goto Windows Start Menu or Apps list » Open the Amazon Appstore » Login (with Amazon account)

For non-U.S users, Download the OpenPC software »
- Upon installation, open OpenPC app » goto Playstore on PC » click Configure_Download. This will auto-download Google Play Store on your Windows 11.

Installing Planisphere:
- Login to your computer's PlayStore or Amazon AppStore.
- Search for "Planisphere" » Click "Install" to install Planisphere
- Planisphere will now be available on your windows start-menu.

Good Concept but needs much improvement

The idea is great but the calibration is inaccurate and there is no option to recalibrate at will. If calibration issues are fixed I would highly recommend this to friends. I hope to see some updates.

Does what it says. Lot's of layering options including deep sky objects so you can focus on what you want and leave out the other stuff. Very reasonable price. Nightlight. Nice job. I recommend it. Made for someone that will use it in the field.

This is a great app to play around with! Works great! I just wish I could choose a specific date to view directly instead of going hour by hour into the future or past. Other than that minor issue, I love it!
