What is LimeChat? LimeChat for iOS is an IRC client that allows users to chat on the go in the same way as they do on desktop. It has a quick navigation feature, arrow buttons to indicate events, highlights messages, visual interface for user information, built-in browser for clickable URL links, full support for landscape mode, multitasking support, multiple servers and channels, automatic Nickserv authentication support, full support for many text encodings, SSL support, and VoiceOver support. However, DCC is not supported currently.

Software Features and Description

1. ・Arrow buttons indicate events (highlight, new message coming or new PM coming) happened in the other channels.

2. You can move around channels quickly by arrow buttons or tapping on the left/right side of log views.

Install LimeChat - IRC Client app on your Windows in 4 steps below:

Download an Android emulator for PC:

Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "LimeChat"
The search will reveal the LimeChat - IRC Client app icon. Open, then click "Install".
Once LimeChat is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including LimeChat.
Now enjoy LimeChat on PC.

To get started, Download the OpenPC software »
- Upon installation, open OpenPC app » goto "Playstore on PC" » click "Configure_Download" button. This will auto-download and install PlayStore on your computer.

To use LimeChat,
- Login to the PlayStore we just installed
- Search for "LimeChat" » then Click "Install".
- LimeChat - IRC Client will now be available on your Windows start-menu.

This app does not support ios dynamic type for larger font sizes and the largest font size built into the app is still much too small for most visually impaired users, making the app entirely unusable even for the visually impaired person who simply needs a larger font size and doesn't use magnification or screen readers

A good start. Missing some important features

I am a heavy chat user and there are some very basic features that are needed in chat clients for them to be functional. I decided to download this app after Colloquy completely destroyed their IOS app in their last release and the do not seem interested in addressing the issues. The this app interface is simple and easy to read and the time stamping feature is an important must have. The 2 functions that are missing are the ability to set audible alerts for channel or PM messaging and the ability to receive messages via IOS notification center when the app is running in the background. Messaging is needed for replies to PM's along with a notification when the app is going to shutdown due to the 10 min background limit that Apple imposes (with an option to hit the notification and automatically reset the timer for another 10 mins). Colloquy does this really well, but they messed the interface up in their latest release. On a positive note, I did contact the this app developer and gave him my suggestions. He responded very quickly and seemed genuinely interested in my suggestions (asking questions). Take a look at the version release dates on the other chat clients and you will see that most of them are 1 or 2 years old! Not a good sign of a developer that is committed to their product long term. Hopefully the this app developer will live up to expectations because I think that he has a solid baseline for a decent chat app.
