Kudos to Production Values... Meh to the Gameplay

Overall I have been impressed with this app. I went in with higher expectations and while dissappointed by the repetitive gameplay, I still feel it was worth the $7.99. This is a typical side-scroller with some beautiful 3D graphics. The Opening was wonderful with the page flipping animation and the hand drawn artwork on the Main Title screen. While you can only move left or right, the 3D environment and characters allow for some movement into the background and foreground to provide the feel of an organic path. The enemies are repetetive, mostly the same 3D models with different textures. However, the boss battles break up the monotony by bringing a little God-of-War style gamplay into the mix. While your weapon can be upgraded, you have no control over any stats or appearance, the same weapon simply becomes level two and level three. Framerate is silky smooth, with no graphical glitches from what I can tell. While the repetetive gameplay could make or break it, the wonderful polish and performance shows that Digital Legends has done their homework on iPhone game development. The iPhone definitly needs less of the casual games and more high-end 3D games like this. A great first game for this developer and hopefully they will either build upon this game with updates, or their next game will take off where this app ends.

Hangs a lot

In the last 5 attempts I got to play it only once!!!it just hangs in the main page.. I've reinstalled the app twice, rebooted my phone as well, nothing worked. iPhone 4.0 iOS 5.1.1

Nice graphics, but this is only the game for you if you like pushing "walk" and then "attack" one after the other ad nauseum.
