Install SMTOWN AR app on your Windows in 4 steps below:
- Download an Android emulator for PC:
Get either Bluestacks or the Nox App >> . We recommend Bluestacks because you can easily find solutions online if you run into problems while using it. Download Bluestacks PC software Here >> .
- Install the emulator:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.
- Using SMTOWN AR on PC [Windows 10/ 11]:
- Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "SMTOWN AR"
- The search will reveal the SMTOWN AR app icon. Open, then click "Install".
- Once SMTOWN AR is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including SMTOWN AR.
- Now enjoy SMTOWN AR on PC.

It works, but you need to work around it.

So I bought NCT Dream's Hot Sauce album and there were the directions on how to use the AR photocard. The first time you open the app after giving all permissions, there's a black screen so you have to close and reopen the app. The next time, hit skip and it will load the artist section. Select artist and hit download for the item you have. Once download is complete, go to MY. This is where you can scan and access your content. The only downside to the app is that you may have to close and reopen it more than once to be able to access said AR content. If you follow directions on the sheet given and what I wrote above, it's pretty self explanatory and does its job.

Disappointing

When you open the app, it seems pretty normal. However, as you keep tapping “Next”, it shows a black screen at the end. To get past this you have to press “Skip”. A black screen will show momentarily, but you’ll be directed to the artists page. I ordered the Kai mini album and when I tried to download the content, it kept saying I had a network issue. I tried going on data mode, I tried my wifi, I tried my friend’s wifi, I tried hotspots, but to no avail. I don’t think it’s like this for all the content on the app as I’ve read the reviews, but the Kai AR content is very broken. Hopefully SM fixes the issues in their app.

App not functional

At first the app showed a black screen after the initial instructions; this black screen lasts for a minute, enough to make you think the app is not working. But after waiting at the black screen for a minute, the app finally opens. The real problem happens after that. I was able to download my idol group that I wanted. However, when I go to scan a photocard of an idol, the program crashes and shuts down automatically. I have attempted to scan my AR photocards multiple times and the app crashes every time. Please fix this issue. Right now the app does not work at all.

Downloads Annoying

The app itself worked for me, i know some other reviews had serious issues, but my only complaint is that when you’re downloading the content for an album, the download has to completely start over if your phone falls asleep. It happened to me like 3 times and it got really annoying that i had to babysit my phone while the content downloaded :/
