Bastardized son of the original
By Dextyrio (Pcmac user)
I can see why so many kids who don’t know any better are giving this 5 stars. It’s not that this is a terrible game... I’m giving it two stars not one because of the homage it did to allow you to have the 1989 graphic character and overall consistency to the feel with the ambience and the smooth execution. But there’s a lot of things not to like about this game. 1. There’s no story: it’s kind of a mindless runner where you just run to dodge spikes with no background whatsoever. You went through the effort of licensing the this app franchise for this game, you might at least keep some of the baby with the bathwater which was its true gem... the power of myth. 2. Ads galore with no option to rid them. 3. No secrets to be discovered, no puzzles to use smarts to defeat a level 4. Gets way too hard after level 9 even with revives... might as well delete which is what I’m now doing. One would think that a game this classic that’s already been rebooted in the public consciousness on film would have at least a bit more time put into it than cobbled together and move to the next concept.

Pretty awesome!!
By Ha1ryPl8er (Pcmac user)
Thanks for having “this app” become an iOS game!! I’ve enjoyed it so far! It does get more difficult as you progress through the game though. It may not make sense to do this, but maybe add a rewind feature instead of a revival potion? I would appreciate it also if there could be a level selection because I would like to replay levels when it becomes too difficult to enjoy. Anyway, great game!! Thanks!! 🙂

This is an ad farm, do not buy
By Raj Oberon (Pcmac user)
My worst fears about this game were true. I highly recommend you read the reviews before purchasing.
I played the original game when I was a kid and this one pales in comparison. Apart from a vaguely similar aesthetic and flow, much of what was fun about the original is lacking here. The levels repeat puzzles and do not get much more interesting. Once you’ve seen the first 20, you’ve basically seen them all. The skeleton and sword you see pop up in most levels at the intro never comes into play, nor do you get to pick up a sword, which was such an iconic moment in the original. To top it all off, everyone else was right: when you pay to remove ads, the ads do not go away. It’s hard to come away from this and not feel like it’s here to farm our $3 each and our consumer availability to advertisements. Please do not feed this monster, move on to something with more value.
If I can get my $3 back I will. If I could report this app for false advertising, I would.

Fun, but flawed
By xander10123 (Pcmac user)
This is a good game to just kill some time with and very addictive, BUT what keeps this game from getting 5 stars are the following reasons:
1) After a while you are literally just repeating levels you have already passed. I don’t mean after 100 levels it repeats, I mean after level 10 or 15 you will notice that the levels are starting to repeat. In my every level should be different, they can be similar with minor tweaks, but not the exact same level you did 10 or so levels ago.
2) As many people have stated already there are way too many ads. I understand it’s a free game, but the ads are long and make it very annoying to play.
And 3) The controls are easy to use/maneuver, but there are some jumps/leaps that are literally impossible because your character can not jump that far. And with levels repeating you are bound to run into the same jump that you can’t make over and over again until you finally succumb and skip the level after the 30 second to 1 minute ad.
Overall: If you want a game to play that will help kill time then this is the perfect game for you, but be aware there are some annoying issues with this game as well such as ads, character/control restraints, and levels just repeating over and over again.
