  • This app is one of the worst things about OTF

    By kirstytheworsty (Pcmac user)

I have never been able to use this app to sign up for classes. It never recognizes my unlimited plan and always wants me to pay for more classes, and this is AFTER I contacted tech support and they “reset” it for me. Disaster. I have also had it show up as me having cancelled a class (paranoid, I checked twice to confirm I had in fact cancelled), only to get the text from my studio saying I was being charged a no-show fee because somehow there was a glitch and it didn’t *really* take me off the list. This kind of error literally COSTS people money!!! My wife’s experience is just as bad, as the waitlist will show up as full despite there actually being no waitlist for certain classes at all when she calls the studio. I have to use the old app. Honestly the tech is the biggest push for OTF, and it consistently DOESN’T work. We don’t use our heart rate monitors anymore because of how glitchy they were. And, to really round off the story, my age shows up at my studio as being born in 1900. I am actually 25, not 119. They have tried to change it multiple times, including talking to corporate about it, and yet my name still shows up on the leaderboard for 50+ years old. This would be funny, but I know there are probably a lot of ladies in the 50+ group who worked hard to get a top benchmark distance and 25 year old me takes up one of their spots.
  • Worse than the old app

    By m0z (Pcmac user)

Need native dev and experience. It looks prettier, but it’s still just a poorly built web app. For two weeks in a row I could not book a session in this app. I reinstalled the old app and I can book sessions just fine in that one. I really really really dislike that this app notifies me to update it. Anyone who knows iOS development knows that applications are set to update automatically through the App Store. I should never have a developer telling me to update their app. What irks me even more about this is that I will get an alert from the app that I need to update. When it, in fact, I am already on the newest version. That’s just plain not smart. Also, the old app supported Face ID but the new one does not? That makes no sense to me. Just about every week this app forces me to log out, I can’t remember which password is which because I’ve had to reset it so many times and have multiple logins to your multiple websites. Since the app doesn’t fully support login keychain and Face ID is not supported it’s a nightmare each time. Just make your app work, don’t break my login, and make a native iOS app. I love the experience of working out at Orange theory, but this application is absolutely terrible. You need to hire some people who know iOS and can build a really great app experience. This is awful.
  • Updated but not improved

    By MarieAnn1975 (Pcmac user)

There are still significant issues with the app that remain unresolved. One being that if you have a membership and a class package, the app draws from the class package instead of the membership. I had to take a list of classes to the studio and they scheduled me, but that means none of the classes are on my calendar, which is a benefit of using the app. Second, they still haven’t figured out how a user can schedule classes before a new billing cycle begins. This is a real problem if you use a studio where classes fill quickly (which I assume is the goal for all studios). If your billing cycle ends on the 14th, you can’t book a class for the 15th until the 15th rolls around unless you buy a class package (see issue one above). This is ridiculous since all studios you visit require your credit card to be on file. You want a 5 am class on the first day of your billing cycle? Not going to happen unless you beg the studio, buy a separate class package, or hope the class you want isn’t booked. I enjoy the workouts but the app issues are ridiculous. I was told that “corporate is taking this very seriously” but the new version they roles out is still flawed. We need a better user experience if you are going to place so much emphasis on class scheduling through the app.
  • Great concept, rarely functional

    By VanMottie (Pcmac user)

Listen, I don’t do this kind of thing. Or when I do, I like to congratulate someone for having done good work, give them 5 stars to off-set the haters. HOWEVER, all I can say is that I’m glad I love my studio so much that the time I spend with the GOD AWFUL app support is worth it. Don’t get me wrong - the app concept is wonderful. When it works, I love it! However, it RARELY works. I have an elite membership and it’s a 50/50 shot whether I’m going to be able to book any classes for the next month. At least reading other people’s reviews, it’s not just me who is having this problem. I’ve contacted app support multiple times, sent them screenshots of my issue - all with no progress. Just assurances that someone will get back to me in 24-72 hours. Usually, all that person says is “we’re working on it” and they’ll send me the same message in 3 more days. I’m giving it 2 stars because it’s an awesome concept. But that’s what it is - a concept.
