How to download and install Calm on your PC and Mac

5 Rating: 5 - 148,374 votes

If you want to install and use the Calm app on your PC or Mac, you will need to download and install a Desktop App emulator for your computer. We have worked diligently to help you understand how to use Calm for your computer in 4 simple steps below:

Step 1: Download an Andriod emulator for PC and Mac

Ok. First things first. If you want to use the application on your computer, first visit the Mac store or Windows AppStore and search for either the Bluestacks app or the Nox App . Most of the tutorials on the web recommends the Bluestacks app and I might be tempted to recommend it too, because you are more likely to easily find solutions online if you have trouble using the Bluestacks application on your computer. You can download the Bluestacks Pc or Mac software here

Step 2: Install the emulator on your PC or Mac

Now that you have downloaded the emulator of your choice, go to the Downloads folder on your computer to locate the emulator or Bluestacks application.
Once you have found it, click it to install the application or exe on your PC or Mac computer.
Now click Next to accept the license agreement.
Follow the on screen directives in order to install the application properly.
If you do the above correctly, the Emulator app will be successfully installed.

Step 3: Calm for PC - Windows 7/8 / 8.1 / 10

Now, open the Emulator application you have installed and look for its search bar. Once you found it, type Calm in the search bar and press Search. Click on Calm application icon. A window of Calm on the Play Store or the app store will open and it will display the Store in your emulator application. Now, press the Install button and like on an iPhone or Andriod device, your application will start downloading. Now we are all done.
You will see an icon called "All Apps".
Click on it and it will take you to a page containing all your installed applications.
You should see the Calm icon. Click on it and start using the application.

Step 4: Calm for Mac OS

Hi. Mac user!
The steps to use Calm for Mac are exactly like the ones for Windows OS above. All you need to do is install the Nox Application Emulator or Bluestack on your Macintosh. You can get here .

Thank you for reading this tutorial. Have a nice day!

  • Upsetting Home Screen update

5/20/18 Company responded promptly and explained how to change Home Page. Very pleased! I have changed my rating to 5 stars. Previous post: I am a subscriber and have loved this app primarily for the Sleep Stories. CALM has, however, recently changed the Home Screen to an animated fireplace complete with fire crackling sounds. Having been the victim of my own and recently my neighbors house fire, both in the middle of the night and both horrible experiences, the last thing I want to see before sleep is FIRE! I have sent them a note through their Help section to see if I can change the home page. I will update this review if a solution can be found.

Although downloading the app is free there is only two things that you can listen to without paying $54 a year.

  • Watch out

I downloaded the program to check it out and didn't use it. I didn't even creat an account, then I was surprised that after few days they took $59.99 from my iTunes account without asking or any kind of authorization. Watch out its automatically set to subscribe you for a whole year.

Lovely voice the narrator has which is very helpful to relaxation process.
  • Work in progress

All of the meditations are by the same person and recorded in the same voice. This voice and style doesn’t suit me, so i prefer Insight Timer, which has a more broad variety of content. I also felt like the content here was more of a self-help talk, less of a meditation. Lots of positive words, but too much about thinking rather than just being. The design is also very colorful and loud, which personally I find more distressing than relaxing. Bottom line: everyone has different tastes, so you should definitely try this app and see if its for you. It’s just not for me at all.

The app it self is very innovative, creative, and useful if you have $60 to spend a year. Like I said before the app itself is great but it’s really only useful if you buy premium which is a bit aggravating because I’d like to enjoy an app without spending money. It’s a good idea but there are 20,000 more apps that do this and for free. Also; if you have an Alexa of any sort I’d just enable the skill “mindfulness” it does the same thing but better and for free! Besides with the money you spend on this app yearly you could buy an Alexa dot which is literally everything this app does and a lot more.
  • Don’t be fooled

Seems nice, but nearly everything is locked until you purchase a premium membership. Even the ones that are unlocked (started a 7 days of managing stress) and not until day 2 do I find out I have to subscribe to hear the rest. Unless you’re willing to pay $60, look elsewhere.
