If you want to install and use the Calm app on your PC or Mac, you will need to download and install a Desktop App emulator for your computer. We have worked diligently to help you understand how to use Calm for your computer in 4 simple steps below:

Step 1: Download an Android emulator for PC and Mac

Ok. First things first. If you want to use the application on your computer, first visit the Mac store or Windows AppStore and search for either the Bluestacks app or the Nox App . Most of the tutorials on the web recommends the Bluestacks app and I might be tempted to recommend it too, because you are more likely to easily find solutions online if you have trouble using the Bluestacks application on your computer. You can download the Bluestacks Pc or Mac software here

Step 2: Install the emulator on your PC or Mac

Now that you have downloaded the emulator of your choice, go to the Downloads folder on your computer to locate the emulator or Bluestacks application.
Once you have found it, click it to install the application or exe on your PC or Mac computer.
Now click Next to accept the license agreement.
Follow the on screen directives in order to install the application properly.
If you do the above correctly, the Emulator app will be successfully installed.

Step 3: Calm for PC - Windows 7/8 / 8.1 / 10

Now, open the Emulator application you have installed and look for its search bar. Once you found it, type Calm in the search bar and press Search. Click on Calm application icon. A window of Calm on the Play Store or the app store will open and it will display the Store in your emulator application. Now, press the Install button and like on an iPhone or Android device, your application will start downloading. Now we are all done.
You will see an icon called "All Apps".
Click on it and it will take you to a page containing all your installed applications.
You should see the Calm icon. Click on it and start using the application.

Step 4: Calm for Mac OS

Hi. Mac user!
The steps to use Calm for Mac are exactly like the ones for Windows OS above. All you need to do is install the Nox Application Emulator or Bluestack on your Macintosh. The links are provided in step one

I do like this app, okay? I think it's very nice, but excuse me entirely @ your pricing??? I am honestly so tired of apps like this advertising themselves as like, accessible to everyone with a mental health issue. mental health can affect anyone, but most of us struggling do not have the kind of expendable income required to pay for subscriptions like this, and it's deceptive to act like this app will help you indefinitely if you don't pony up eventually. the free content is nice but it's basically just a sample, a very small sample of what is available, and you can't just pick the ones that will help you, you have to buy full access. just like all the other apps offering free meditations and content, only the first couple in a random series are available, so if you need help with a specific issue, you have to buy the whole thing eventually. I'm not opposed to giving money to app developers because they deserve income for their work, but this stuff is NOT accessible. this app in particular seems like a very nice supplement along with actual Healthcare... for affluent people who already can afford stuff like, idk, insurance. for people who are not so lucky and just want to frickin sleep, our options are very limited. if there was a choice to just buy the meditations on subjects that I need or to sample specific songs and then buy those, the price tag on those might be doable. not currently an option. thanks but no thanks.
  • Some people just want to sleep!

I started using this app two years ago. (2016) I absolutely loved it! I had sleep problems and I looked up tricks and other apps including headspace but I couldn’t afford them and this was free with all this cool stuff. You added stuff and I loved but then most of it was premium. I didn’t mind. I had about 6 sleep stories to chose from and a couple of meditations. Got an update and got sleep music. Then I got a new phone and I forgot the password so had the Apple store restore everything and then I got the app again. There was a huge new update which made me so angry I deleted the app. I got it again eventually. I only had one sleep story and all the meditations were gone except for the 7 days of whatever but only the first lesson!! I used my sleep story but heard it so much I just couldn’t use the app. I went to ASMR which helped me for a few months but it eventually got boring. I used calm again and you could hear the featured story that changed everyday. Yay! A different one. It only lasted a week. Tonight I look and the featured story is now premium. Look, some people can’t afford and JUST WANT TO SLEEP!! At least lower the price or do a really good deal that’s worth buying. I have read other reviews like this and I wish I could like them. This is probably the third review I have written and you guys have done nothing. I am really disappointed. Put at least another sleep story!!

I have been using Calm for about four years, since a time when I was suffering heavily from postpartum anxiety. My therapist recommended I try mindfulness, but I didn’t take her very seriously at first. Then I read a magazine article that recommended Calm and I decided to tried it. I am so thankful that I did. I have learned so much. This app has taught me to take a step back from my anxious thoughts and really examine them. It has also helped in situations where I was on the verge of panic. I have been able to pause, remind myself to breathe, and then I find it much easier to cope. The new Master Class series is fascinating. I have been using what I learned to recognize all sorts of habits I didn’t even realize were negative habits, like mindless social media, saying up late, procrastination, etc. I’ve been applying the lessons from that series and asking myself, “what am I really getting from this behavior?” Most times, that’s enough just to disenchant myself from the behavior and move on to a more positive experience. Thank you, Calm team, genuinely. This app has been an essential tool in helping pull me out of the darkness of postpartum anxiety, helping me fight daily my anxious tendencies, and has helped me be a better spouse, parent, and person. Keep up the awesome work!
  • Racist Nirvana (Updated, problem corrected)

(This problem has been corrected. Aside from this early incident, Calm has been a god send in these hectic times. It even helps drastically with racism, oddly enough. I encourage everyone to use it and I’ve been suggesting it over the past year. I’m only leaving the initial comment up because I think it will help people be mindful of taking all people including marginalized communities into consideration when they create services, apps and products. Once again thanks for the great product and correcting the initial issue) I was greatly hurt, disappointed, and in disbelief at the fact that someone at Calm, an app designed to help deal with anxiety, especially in these hectic times with this president, decided to include Ben Stein a fascist Trump apologist—reading racist "Wealth of Nations" as a bedtime story. I put it on and began to fall asleep but was jolted to anger when I heard them talking about savage nations and western nations it made me angry for days. This is unexplainable! I sent an email and tweet, that we're not responded to. Either I'm the only person of color using this app, or people are really slow on the ball this is unacceptable!

Refreshing! Trying to establish the habit but the app is great when I discipline myself to use it.

  • Poor support

I believe this is a great APP except that they’ve make no effort to respond to 3 concerns in emails via their support tickets The first one that I made some time ago was that I found it extremely difficult in the middle of the night to see the icons or read anything without glasses. I asked if they could make them little bit larger for those of us who cannot see well at night without reading glasses. They never responded, in fact with in a few weeks they made the reading icons even more difficult to read. Being a neuroscientist I recommended this app to my patients. Many of them complained of this difficulty and so I once again wrote a support ticket. They Never responded. They also changed the voice of the Female narrator for the meditations and put a background noise which is constant. This may be easy for some people to hear her voice without difficulty But I find it impossible. Background sound rushing water perhaps like Niagara Falls. Very difficult to concentrate and hear her voice clearly. I am a 20+ year veteran meditator and find this new sound agitating I explained it was difficult and asked if they would turn the volume down. The Never responded and made no change. An App is only as good as the support. Which seems to be absent. Too bad it is otherwise a good idea.

  • 7 day free trial doesn’t exist with ITunes.

I signed up (I thought) for a free 7 day trial and after that either cancel or pay the 59.99 for a year subscription. I noticed iTunes charged me right away for a year. I tried it for a few days and as it turns out I don’t care for it. I mainly got it to see if it would lower my bp. Instead I tend to find the meditations and the music raised my bp a little. That’s ok, I may be a bit of an odd duck. But I find vigorous activity that raises my pulse rate decreases my bp, at least temporarily. All that is fine but now I am stuck paying the 59.99 for an app I am never going to use. I use an iPad Pro fyi. I feel betrayed by the come on of a 7 day free trial. When I contacted customer support I went to my settings as I was told and cancelled the app. That only cancels it for next year. iTunes isn’t about to give me my money back. So much for Calm’s customer support. I did all this well within the 7 day “free trial” time period. I don’t like being out 59.99. Stick with Pandora folks, you may find it does the job even better.

I want to try Calm and if it works I am willing to pay the posted 59.99/year but when I was going through set up for the trial version it stated that a yearly subscription would be 79.99 after my 7 days of the trial. I am NOT willing to pay that amount when everything else states 59.99. Please explain the price difference.

I mainly use this app for the bedtime stories. I wish they would add stories more frequently. Overall I’m very satisfied with the app, the price was more than I would normally pay, so I’m hoping they keep the app fresh.

This app is amazing it really is but there is to little for free. Put some free calm body stuff and more sleep stories. I have listened to all 3 5 TIMES. And knock the price down pls. Other than that I’m doing great on the 7 days of a calm and on the breathing thing. You guys Need to put at least 2 or 1 free masterclass cause if let’s say there’s this guy who can’t afford to spend 60 FRICKIN DOLLARS ON THE APP! Guess what team calm, they go to headspace or something like that. And you lose money! Ok. I bet that you will ignore this
