To get started, Download the OpenPC software »
- Upon installation, open OpenPC app » goto "Playstore on PC" » click "Configure_Download" button. This will auto-download and install PlayStore on your computer.

To use Easy WD MyCloud Home,
- Login to the PlayStore we just installed
- Search for "Easy WD MyCloud Home" » then Click "Install".
- Easy WD MyCloud Home will now be available on your Windows start-menu.

I purchased a My Cloud Home a few months back and was a little disappointed with their app. The video player in the app made by WD does not use Apple’s native video interface and it just doesn’t work all that well. There is no ability to skim videos in the WD app and the 15 second back and rewind buttons were also not available. This app solved those issues because it used the native Apple video interface. It is also very fast and works as described! Only thing that I could think of that could be improved (hence the 4 star review) is that this app lacks any option to require authentication before using. It would be nice to have Touch ID/Face ID and passcode as an option that could be turned on for this app. Overall though, I am happy with this app and the added functionality it brings to my My Cloud Home!

This software made My Cloud Home usable and worthwhile. I just purchased a WD My Cloud Home. I transferred my photos and videos to the drive with one of my specific intents to be able to access and view them on my iPad. Avi is an unsupported format. I was very disappointed and felt like I had wasted my money, that is until finding this software. WD the app was able to read the drive, access and read all of my media files and play my video files flawlessly. I just watched a vintage Sienfeld on my iPad over WiFi, had a great laugh and now feel like, thanks to WD the app, this My Cloud Home might be a good investment after all. I’m hoping that they will continue to build and improve the software to be able to do Slideshows and basic photo edits which will make it a 5 Star App. Many Thanks!!!
Very basic

Don’t expect miracles. The prime reason why I purchased this app was because I didn’t want to have to Airplay to my Apple TV and this supports an Apple TV version. It’s limited as compared to the standard WD app. There is no renaming function that I can see no can you move files easily within the My Cloud folder structure. I’ve had no issue with login as others may have. For my primary use on Apple TV it’s been fine hence the 3-Star review. You mileage will certainly vary depending on your own unique needs.

Yes it works but is as BASIC as u can get. No rewind of fast forward. Emailed support twice and never got an answer. Hopefully they update it since is a paid app of something will do a lot better. Would I recommend? Only if there is nothing else and you know you can watch movies but if u stop them you start from the beginning again. 😫
