Cam software
By C. B. 2019 (Pcmac user)
Had this for about 3 months now, this is what I’ve learned; although the software is actually great, it’s kinda hard to operate until you get used to it. I’m finding that it’s not the software causing most of the problems, it’s the doorbell camera that has the issues. I’ve found that the camera is sensitive to infrared light (camera alarm goes off every morning about 9:00am, that when the sunlight hits the camera, it goes off for 2 hours until the sunlight passes, then again 4 hours later for about 2 hours the alarm goes off again when the sunlight hits the camera again. ALSO! If you have security cameras, the infrared (night vision if equipped) will also trigger the doorbell camera! Tested it several times and every time the cameras came on at night the doorbell would ring! So reset your security cams away from the direction of your doorbell cam! The issues I have with this app is that it doesn’t wake up fast enough to catch people that DO COME TO MY DOOR! so I miss the video it’s suppose to record, just a 30 second recording of no one there verified by my security cams. Also the software is not recording anything on the micro card installed! Don’t know why yet, I’ll come back here if I can find out why. So stop blaming this software for your issues, it’s your doorbell camera that has most or the issues. Signed: CEB.

HORRIBLE
By KelsieH717 (Pcmac user)
The first day it worked fine, the next and each day after it’s horrible, just like described in reviews on here, the device is crap, I literally got notifications when NOTHING was there and 12 different ones in less than 1 minute this lasted all day I had to turn notifications off and it defeated the purpose. When there is someone it may not go off and if it does it’s so lagging they are walking in my house before it even starts recording. I had a warranty on this and the first one was replaced, benefit of the doubt on it but then the second one did the SAMETHING then the app would crash when I would click settings, it did all previous things plus some like take forever to load the screen and just not notify at all when there was actual activity.
They swore I was the only person with this issue but after reading reviews I’m obviously not!!

Ridiculous
By annoyed consumer 2 (Pcmac user)
I have noticed the lag time that has been mentioned. I have also noticed the first 4 seconds of video being black, which makes the video completely pointless since the recording is already so short. I thought I changed settings to record longer, but that has not worked. Also, the “alert” on my cell phone is absolutely obnoxious. It sounds a total of 9 “dings,” and there is no way to change it.
On to my main complaint. This is our first sunny day since installing the doorbell. I have been alerted 71 times within the last hour or so. I’ve tried all environment settings to no avail. It has alerted 7 more times while typing this review. My only option, it seems, is to completely disable notifications. However, that would totally defeat the purpose of the doorbell.
the app, you have much work to do. This is totally unacceptable.

Works fine
By 666Noone666 (Pcmac user)
I have seen the ring and ring 2 in use. This is just as good as the ring doorbell. Yes, the response time could be a little better but for the price it is much better than I expected. Video quality is good, two way talk works fine. The only down side to it is the reaction time between the PIR being tripped and the camera starting to record. That is due to the PIR itself. Those devices inherently have a lag between trip and trigger. It is still quick enough to catch someone walking up to my door though.
