What is Cytoid?

Cytoid is an open-source rhythm game that allows users to create, share, and play their own levels. The game is based on the classic scanner-style gameplay and is powered by the community. Cytoid offers a wide variety of musical genres and diverse gameplay design. The game has been overhauled in version 2.0 to provide better gameplay and graphics, diverse game modes, and a smoother community-driven experience.

Game Features and Description

1. Welcome to Cytoid, an open-source rhythm game where you can create, share and play your own levels! Based on the classic scanner-style gameplay and powered by the community, Cytoid provides a huge variety of musical genres to enjoy and a diverse range of gameplay design.

✔ Pros:

- Unique combination of community beatmaps from Osu and gameplay similar to Cytus series

- Great replay value

- Good alternative to play while waiting for future Cytus updates

☹ Cons:

- Difficult to figure out how to download beatmaps for the first time

- Starting a level can be laggy and mess up the sync

- Gameplay can feel off, especially with slides/holds and margin of error for normal notes being too precise

- Pause button in gameplay is too small and accessing the menu can be annoying

- Level packs like Osu would be a useful addition to avoid having to download each level individually.

Cytus Gameplay with Osu Community

This game is a pretty fantastic idea. While it is a clone of the Cytus series, the devs also included the idea of community beatmaps from Osu. Great replay value, however, figuring out how to download beatmaps for the first time was a pain in the neck. (For me at least.) It turns out that they download to the files app, which you can then copy to the game. Other than that, excellent alternative to play while waiting for future C2 updates.

This game is great, I can never have enough cytus and this app really helped me,I think it would we be cool if we get gameplay mods like in osu!, that would be complete insanity! Oh, I also have a problem when a starting a level it's always laggy and actually messes up the sync, but retrying the level usually fixes it, it's just a bit inconvenient. Edit:Thank you!

The game is awesome itself, but I feel like these should be added. 1st: Make the pause button bigger in gameplay. Its super annoying that when you exit you have to hit the button like 8 times to actually access the menu. 2nd: Add level packs like osu!. Its pretty annoying to have to download each level at a time. Other than that, this game is pretty cool.

The gameplay feels a bit off. It can be hard to tell if you hit note like slides/holds and the margin of error for normal notes is way to precise. I love the community aspect of it and probably play it a decent amount but would love to see the gameplay flow smoother.
