I loved the original two installments of the app. It really is a shame this is one is just so incredibly bad. Seriously, if you liked the app, do not get this one, it will taint your good memories of the previous ones.

very disapointed in this game. looks like technology took a few steps backward. There are too many glitches for a product that cost this much. Enough said.. Fix it please.

I purchased this game after discovering and playing the first two. What a mistake! I should have read the other reviews first. This game movement is very clunky with Kate getting caught many times running around in circles and unable to get out unless the game is quit and re-started. The character voices are amusingly all from what appears to be two people: one for the female voices and one for the male voices. While not affecting gameplay it is a distraction (to me anyway). The biggest problem I encountered which caused me to quit the game and remove it from my computer occurred when Oscar was trying to open the vents to let the bats escape. I found all the stuff I was supposed to find and then climbed on the truck to move the ladder. I then went to the cab and moved the truck to the proper spot. At that point the game stopped playing. Oscar was not able to continue his mission of climbing the ladder to open the vents. He could not get past the already extended ladder to operate the ladder controls nor was he able to climb it. Without that critical step the game could go no further. In frustration I decided to delete that gamesave thinking, quite wrongly, that the game would revert to the previous save and I could go again from there. Nope! It deleated the entire gamesave which meant I was going to have to start a new game from the beginning. ‘Fraid not. Deleted game and licked my wounds. Moral: read the reviews!!!

I loved the first two in this series and recently played them again waiting for this one. On the plus side, it’s gorgeous. Stunning. Incredible graphics. The story line is interesting and the puzzles quite logical. Most of them are getting a machine, such as a crane, to do something, like load coal onto a ship. Too bad the game is almost unplayable. Whoever decided on WASD/arrow keys to move Kate around should be forced to play this game with those controls for the next ten years with no bathroom breaks. Kate lurches, staggers, and wanders, as you mash arrow keys in an effort to get her from one place to another. The developers recommend a game controller, which I don’t have, and I’m not going to buy one just to play this game. The first two games happily used a mouse. What the heck? Disregarding the awfulness of the player controls, the constant crashes and black screens would try the patience of the most avid gamer. And the Save Game sort of works, mostly. The game is saved automatically at certain points. You can’t make a save at any time you like. And a few times, Save Game didn’t, forcing me to lurch and stagger poor Kate through the mind-numbing series of paths all over again. Be warned. The Icbreaker puzzle is almost impossible to solve with the mouse. It took me two hours to get through it. And…the ending…is…well, I don’t want to spoil it for other players. Let’s just say that if Benoit Sokol were here, I would still be screaming at him, eight hours after I finished the game. Shame on Microids.
