Install Weather Connect app on your Windows in 4 steps below:
- Download an Android emulator for PC:
Get either Bluestacks or the Nox App >> . We recommend Bluestacks because you can easily find solutions online if you run into problems while using it. Download Bluestacks PC software Here >> .
- Install the emulator:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.
- Using Weather Connect on PC [Windows 10/ 11]:
- Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "Weather Connect"
- The search will reveal the Weather Connect app icon. Open, then click "Install".
- Once Weather Connect is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including Weather Connect.
- Now enjoy Weather Connect on PC.

For Windows 11, check if there's a native Weather Connect Windows app here » ». If none, follow the steps below:
- To get started, Download the OpenPC software »
- Upon installation, open OpenPC app » goto "Playstore on PC" » click "Configure_Download" button. This will auto-download and install PlayStore on your computer.
- To use Weather Connect,
- Login to the PlayStore we just installed
- Search for "Weather Connect" » then Click "Install".
- Weather Connect will now be available on your Windows start-menu.

If it were not for KCS84's post below, this was going in the trash. I bought this to replace an Accurite station, install is super simple. Documentation does not exist, there are no instructions for recommended mounting positions. I had the same issue with my setup (Airport Extreme) 2.4Ghz and 5 Ghz both on, the station would connect to my wireless, but the app never indicated so, it would always show fail. Per the info in KCS84's post, I disabled the 5GHz on the router, and the app worked instantly. I re-enabled the 5GHz and still works just fine.

Won’t work if your network has 5GHz channel

Same issue everyone else is having. Except in my case, I have a modem/router that is managed by my ISP, so I have no ability to login and control it. Therefore, I cannot disable the 5 GHz channel, which means that this app will not work at all for me. Very disappointed, as sharing my the app station on Wunderground was the main reason I spent the $80 to buy the the app station.
What’s extra disappointing is that the regular La Crosse View app works just fine, so clearly they have the ability to support the product. They just choose not to update this app or integrate its functionality in the La Crosse View app.

Says it won’t connect to WiFi but ignore this

This probably took me three hours to figure out but in the end it worked. I tried everything to get the app to connect to my WiFi including turning off the 5ghz part of my router but it continued to say it failed to connect. Finally I discovered that as long as my phone and my the app station were connected on the 2.4ghz frequency of my router I could just ignore this and click the back arrow (top left) and move onto the next step. Then it worked fine.

I’m puzzled by all the bad reviews. I had no problem connecting my La Cross station to WU, and it has worked flawlessly so far. I suspect some people are not waiting long enough for their stations to connect. It may look like the app is continually requesting information about your network, but just be patient, it may take a while for your station to appear on WU.
