Problems keep it from being great
By Kayakbabe yawls (Pcmac user)
The game has some problems which keep it from being that much fun. The controls are too touchy and seem to lose calibration ( especially for movement) . Also the boss at the end of the first level is exponentially more difficult that a first level boss should be. After about 10 tried, I just quit. And I usually love games like these. It is too bad, the graphics are nice... I think the two issues I mentioned have kept this from selling. I would suggest that the developers fix the controls, make the bosses not killer tough in comparison to the level just played through (not easy, but easier more in proportion), and to get people to try it, drop the cost down. As it is, with its problems, I cannot recommend this game.

Great looking, but repetitive
By Astationzero (Pcmac user)
I read a preview saying this was the best Zelda clone to come to iOS. Personally I wouldn't even compare the two. They are both top down action style RPG games, and it does try to invoke classic Zelda nostalgia, but after a few minutes you will find it is a quite a different game.
Gameplay centers around the ability to swipe at enemies and use a grappling hook like fishing rod. Each level is set up as a short puzzle that must by completing by swiping down baddies and swinging yourself from island to island. There are upgrades and things to avoid, but that is pretty much the gameplay.
New items and puzzle changes are regularly introduced, but they are small and don't do a lot to break thr repetition. This makes it hard to stay invested. Bosses are few and far between and most enemies are only fun to fight the first few times.
All in all I would say it is a visually appealing game with little depth to the game play and story. Add a few change ups to the gameplay, mini bosses, and items and it would be a much more rewarding game.
P.S. If you want the best Zelda clone for iOS Oceanhorn still takes the cake.

Excellent Zelda inspired title with gorgeous art design!
By Tdogg33 (Pcmac user)
I highly recommend this game and hope to see more like it. You use your fishingrod much like the mechanical arm in bionic commando. It helps you travel from island to island, solve puzzles by moving crates or even to stun enemies. Those annoying unreachable creatures that lurk in the waters firing fireballs at you from a safe distance... Not in this game! Grapple their butts over to you like scorpion from Mortal Kombat. LOL Beautiful art design adds to the substantial charm of this game. Well worth the purchase!

Slightly Stylish, Slightly Boring
By Dentorin (Pcmac user)
Having played the first twenty levels of this game, I'm officially giving myself permission to stop. And ultimately, the reason for this is that the game just isn't very fun. It's cute and it plays well enough but there are very few differences from level to level.
It's worth noting, as others have, that this is nothing like Zelda. This game is level based and has no exploration elements. There are upgrades for each item which affect the game minimally. Also, because they guide you directly to those upgrades within the level, there is no feeling of discovery.
The last thing I wanted to say is that the game is VERY easy. Obviously, this is very subjective. However, in my experience, I found that all of the difficulty came from the touch controls and my apathy. During the first boss fight, I was only hit twice. Once by his surprise mechanic and once because I didn't care to dodge anymore.
I don't think you should necessarily avoid this game but there are better options for the money.
