Download and install Pokémon GO on your Laptop or Desktop computer

If you want to install and use the Pokémon GO app on your PC or Mac, you will need to download and install a Desktop App emulator for your computer. We have worked diligently to help you understand how to use this app for your computer in 4 simple steps below:

Step 1: Download an Android emulator for PC and Mac

Ok. First things first. If you want to use the application on your computer, first visit the Mac store or Windows AppStore and search for either the Bluestacks app or the Nox App . Most of the tutorials on the web recommends the Bluestacks app and I might be tempted to recommend it too, because you are more likely to easily find solutions online if you have trouble using the Bluestacks application on your computer. You can download the Bluestacks Pc or Mac software here

Step 2: Install the emulator on your PC or Mac

Now that you have downloaded the emulator of your choice, go to the Downloads folder on your computer to locate the emulator or Bluestacks application.
Once you have found it, click it to install the application or exe on your PC or Mac computer.
Now click Next to accept the license agreement.
Follow the on screen directives in order to install the application properly.
If you do the above correctly, the Emulator app will be successfully installed.

Step 3: for PC - Windows 7/8 / 8.1 / 10

Now, open the Emulator application you have installed and look for its search bar. Once you found it, type Pokémon GO in the search bar and press Search. Click on Pokémon GOapplication icon. A window of Pokémon GO on the Play Store or the app store will open and it will display the Store in your emulator application. Now, press the Install button and like on an iPhone or Android device, your application will start downloading. Now we are all done.
You will see an icon called "All Apps".
Click on it and it will take you to a page containing all your installed applications.
You should see the icon. Click on it and start using the application.

Step 4: for Mac OS

Hi. Mac user!
The steps to use Pokémon GO for Mac are exactly like the ones for Windows OS above. All you need to do is install the Nox Application Emulator or Bluestack on your Macintosh. The links are provided in step one

Download on Andriod, Iphone
Free On iTunes
Download Android

Thank you for reading this tutorial. Have a nice day!

  • Great Game BUT........

    by canine baker
This is a wonderful game, great to get people out and moving I definitely recommend it for people who live in populated areas and towns BUT if you live in the rural areas and the country sides of this country where service is spotty and where they placed most all the stops and gyms there is NO SERVICE then playing this game is almost worthless. As a player moving from the city to the country it almost leaves me no choice but to quit or almost forget about the game, sad because I’m a paying player. I read how Niantic was working hard at trying to come up with a resolution for RURAL players but every update and addition to the game benefits populated players. Even trying to contact help support and Niantic is a waste of time, all you will get is a return email where someone will just copy and paste the same answers over and over again, if you cared to do something about this critical issue then maybe taking a moment and conversing with the rural players may help. I hate to have to leave this game but Niantic does not seem to care if they lose their rural players and that is so sad as if you maybe took the time to work with rural players the issue could be resolved, I say to the populated players get out and have an awesome time playing this game and don’t complain about adding a couple bucks to the game it is a lot cheaper then a night out to the movies and a lot more fun with the family! Signed The forgotten rural players!
  • Raids and rockets

    by Haze with a Z
Fun concept behind the game but the raids are just a pain. I can do a gym battle or spin a pokéstop, but raids and team rocket battles are different. You can’t do them while moving around and none are close enough to my house to do them there. Raids are better with many people but if you can’t get enough people then you are basically screwed. I did my first raid today against suicoon which was extremely hard and since I was on the move I only had one chance to win. If other people were in it with me it would have been fine but no one was there. A few years ago it would have been full. Team rocket is also hard on the go. I will get in a battle that I don’t have time for so I try and stay in the game but pause by not clicking out. Guess what it does. It times out. I was all excited and it timed out. This doesn’t even happen for catching Pokémon. Do something to attract more people or male it easier for this on the go. It is in its name : Pokémon Go. I finally move to a city and this is what I end up with. Just please make the raids better cause what is the point of a legendary raid if no one can get the Pokémon or very few people can. My experience today isn’t making me want to play anymore instead it makes me think I should find a game that is more popular. I am Haze with a Z in Pokémon go and feel free to friend me.
  • Rural players matter too!!

    by ivel420
I love this game and play everyday but some recent changes are really hurting rural players. I live in a town of >1500 people and we have a Pokémon base of maybe 50 players around town, many of us having full time jobs, kids, or school or any combination of the 3. Sometimes it gets really difficult to get a enough players together for raids especially legendary raids that require a group of 7-8 or more because most of the players in rural areas like this aren’t much higher level than 25.. even some of the most active players are still only 30-33. Now you’ve changed the raid timers down to 45 there will be even less raids happening in my area. Most of the raids we were able to complete have been in the last 10-15 minutes of the 1 hour raids. Also the raid boss switch is pretty lame in my opinion the level 4s aren’t even worth while anymore at least before every once in a while you could get a snorlax or t-tar. Now the best thing is golem and what avid players don’t already have an army of them from fighting the legendary birds? Sableye and porygon are the only decent changes but now there is nothing with the strength of alakazam or machamp that is worth while for tier 3 and lower. Your changes have been for the worse and you are just making your fan base angrier with these useless changes when you should be focused on giving us thing we all want like trading, pvp, mew, and the rest of gen 2!!
  • Would be higher but...

    by MelonDrop346
I love all of the new editions to the game. I love that it finally FEELS like pokemon. The problem is that it’s far too late. The fact that you guys were so eager to release this game before it was finished, before you had the server capacity (that’s not totally your fault though this game initially blew up more than anyone could have thought), there was no features to battle, interact with friends, no raids or gym battles, the radar had constant problems, you guys wouldn’t allow anyone to use radars because your guys’ app kind of sucked at the time. You guys just handled this game extremely poorly during the initial first 6 months. Instead of releasing the game unfinished to make money, why didn’t you at least add features that would have made it fun to play with friends? Yes the raids were a great edition, but the new problem is that there are so many players that quit that I can never catch any legendaries because none of my friends and no people are out actively playing the game anymore. This game would have actually been fun to play and probably would have kept more players if it even had just some of the features that it does now. But because it doesn’t, it’s simply too difficult to do some of the really awesome things unless you have a dedicated group of like 15 people who will go out together and do raids. And I don’t know anyone who does. Nice try niantic, hopefully the Harry Potter game is better handled.
  • Not gonna lie

    by aahliegh
I’m not even going to lie, I’m 27 and absolutely love this game. I grew up with Pokémon and this is by far the best Pokémon game. I stopped playing for a year or so because I reached the top level and got bored with it; about 6 months ago my husband convinced me to redownload it because of the numerous new features and two more generations of Pokémon that had been added to the game. Unfortunately as of lately I’ve been having nothing but problems with getting it to load. This is now the third time in a week that I’ve had to uninstall and reinstall the game and unfortunately this time it doesn’t appear to even be reinstalling. And yes the app and phone software are all up to date and everything like that. On top of that, on my other phone, if/when the game loads it no longer loads all of the way. It’s genuinely one of the most frustrating things I’ve been dealing with because playing this game keeps me out of trouble and out of my own head. It’s definitely become my biggest hobby and biggest outlet, so when I’m stressed out to the max and it doesn’t want to load - which seems to be every single time I’m excessively stressed lately- it just makes everything worse. I was praying that these last batch of updates they did would have fixed that but I haven’t even been able to get the game to load since it updated! That is literally the only downside to it and unfortunately it’s a major one.
  • After a lot of work...

    by Martsthefarts
I got through the bad things about this app (Making an account took forever and I got stuck on loading) I have enjoyed the good stuff. I am on a roadtrip and as such I have been able to sit down, relax, then get exercising because the game has plenty of Poké Stops in cities, suburban areas have schools as Poké Stops sometimes, and basically, as long as you are near a Poké Stop you can enjoy this app to the fullest. Partly Cloudy weather has lead to me being able to catch so many different Pokémon and within a few minutes of playing I caught an Eevee and I love my Water Pokemon that I caught so far (Water is my favorite type) and I have enjoyed being able to play this game that has encouraged me to Pokémon GO outside and get exercise! At first the app seems blank, sure, but then you walk around and find a group of Plusle, Minun, Geodude, and so many more. And thankfully catching one doesn’t scare all the others away. I haven’t caught Pikachu, one of my favorite Pokémon, but on this road-trip I feel like I am destined to find one. I don’t care if I have to walk around the campground until 10:00 At Night. I will do what all my years of playing Pokémon has taught me. I will tell myself this everytime I feel tired and there is a nearby Poké Stop. Gotta Catch ‘em All! But seriously. Don’t put yourself in danger playing this app. Even if that shiny Magikarp (The King of Carp!) is right there. Don’t drown for it.
  • Love this game so much, but some flaws cause it to be so frustrating

    by Jaclynlou
There have been a few times where I’ve been in a very large raid group (10-20 people) and a few of us will get kicked out in the middle of the battle and we won’t be allowed back in (even when there’s time left on the clock) to catch the Pokemon. There have been times where after this glitch happens, I will still have my raid pass, but all of my Pokemon will be injured or knocked out. There are also times where I have lost my raid pass in this glitch and it causes me to have to buy another one on the spot. It’s very frustrating and embarrassing to commute far out to meet up with a raid group, only to have the game glitch out on me. I’ve been playing this game since the day it came out and glitches like this cause me to get very discouraged and flustered. That being said, I love this game so much; it truly makes my long walk into work better and more fun, AND it encourages me to go out for walks during my lunch break. I would say that it has been a very positive influence on my life and some of my friends lives. It makes my day more exciting, and it helps me feel a level of nostalgia considering I played all of the Pokemon games growing up. I hope this game is up and running forever, I just wish that some of the gym issues would get cleaned up a bit :)
  • Love it but....

    by kenketcham
I’m gonna keep this short and sweet I’ve recently picked up Pokémon go again after about 7 months of not playing this game I once was obsessed with now I can say that it definitely has grown in a lot of ways but still things need to be changed starting with people in rural areas have a tough time really playing this game because of the lack of poke stops and variety of Pokémon given to them. I myself live in the Suburbs and also once lived in the city and FYI it’s such a drastic difference in terms of pokestops and Pokemon in general the cities are obviously flooded with both while the suburbs yet not completely empty still lacks the ability to grow within this game, but back to my point I have friends who love this game who live in much more rural areas and they just can’t really grow or have much fun with this wonderful game and they become extremely frustrated with it because they really must travel such a distance to be able to play this game it was obviously meant to be played with gym battles galore, pokestop madness and obviously new Pokédex entries. So I conclude this with Niantic you guys have really made this game fun again but please show more of a distribution of Pokémon, gyms, and pokestops to all your players across the country because I want this game to do better then it has ever been. P.s. sorry for the lack of punctuation
  • Best game ever

    by Ugfiyxjydthfdh
Almost. I love the new trading and friend system, this has been one of my favorite games over the last couple years. But I think that you guys should add a chat system to organize raids better. It could be like a messaging system between friends only so that way there no trouble with stalking or anything negative like that but it would make it easier to organize raid parties without having to download a third party app like WhatsApp which requires you to let everyone know your phone number. Also it would be great to be able to buy great or ultra balls from the shop as well. I walked at a park near me for about 30 miles and caught every Pokémon that appeared. By the end of the walk I only received about 40 ultra balls and 50 great balls which sounds great until you consider that I walked for 9 hours. I received plenty of regular poke balls though(over 250 to be exact). One last note, I live in Miami and there are plenty of places to go play Pokémon go but sometimes I wish I could just walk around my area without having to travel to play. There’s plenty of things that could be pokestops near me but just aren’t. There are 2 churches on my corner that don’t have pokestops. Right across the street there is a building with a cool design that could be a pokestops but I refuse to download ingress just to request pokestops.
  • Similar to real game

    by NOtaterJUSTtat
I started playing July 2016 but due to all the glitches and lack of Pokémon I stopped playing for a few years. The reason I started up again was because a friend recommended to try it. Now gifts can be exchanged, the Pokémon generations are mostly caught up, and there are a lot more stops and gyms to interact with. My main issue with this game is the lack of interaction with other players. I would like to be able to battle with nearby trainers like the real Pokémon game allows. Also during gym battles, there should be an option to switch Pokémon in between defeats. Those are the rules in a real Pokémon battle and this should be applied to this game. Pokémon should also gain experience after battles to help build them up. I understand the candy concept but those should be bonus experience/cp. I have lost a few great catches due to the glitches/network errors which is very frustrating! Other than that I enjoy catching Pokémon and spinning stops on my walk up to work through the downtown area. It’s a nice way to see the town. EDIT I forgot to mention: I’m not sure why but when I’m on the bus or in any vehicle as a passenger I should be able to spin stops for rewards not “try again later”. It doesn’t make sense to allow me the option to catch Pokémon but I can’t get stops or gain steps with my eggs or buddy.
