Download an Android emulator for PC:

Install the emulator:

Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "Focal"
The search will reveal the Focal - Viewfinder app icon. Open, then click "Install".
Once Focal is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including Focal.

To get started, Download the OpenPC software »
- Upon installation, open OpenPC app » goto "Playstore on PC" » click "Configure_Download" button. This will auto-download and install PlayStore on your computer.

To use Focal,
- Login to the PlayStore we just installed
- Search for "Focal" » then Click "Install".
- Focal - Viewfinder will now be available on your Windows start-menu.

Great but needs work

I love the app and use it quite frequently as I shoot on a lot of different formats(35mm to 4x5). Just had one question/suggestion for devs. The system for selecting ratio and crop factor is not intuitive nor perfectly accurate. While crop-factor can be determined it is different between formats due to aspect ratio. While 6x7 may technically have a .5 crop factor because I need to adjust aspect ratio the math and my testing side by side say .48 is more accurate. Anyways what I am saying is that I would like for this to be addressed and for the system to be redone and have some defaults for crop-factor/format combinations as they go together hand in hand, rather than me having to select each individually and test. My friend had the Alpa app and another viewfinder that does this. And I am tempted to move over if this isn't addressed in the near future. Anyways keep up the work hope this can be resolved.

This a great tool to have in your pocket if you’re doing any sort of filming or video production. The value is great for the price hands down. Suggestion: Having aspect ratio mask presets for the more common ones with a crop such as 1:85:1, 2:35:1, 2:55:1 Thanks for this great app!
Best deal for the best viewfinder

This is a very clean and simple app that is so fun to use! I have used other viewfinder apps like Artemis but they are all very clunky and outdated. This app is beautifully designed and so simple to use! It also offers the ability to view your lens through different aspect ratios which was why I found this app specifically for my last project. I figured I would try it out because of the reasonable price and I have been very happy with the results.
